The mission of the Beaufort International Film Festivalis to enliven our community by fostering and developing a rich appreciation for the art of filmmaking. For the past quarter of a century Beaufort has served as the backdrop for more than 20 major motion pictures, to include Forrest Gump, The Big Chill, The Prince of Tides, and many more. Through this festival we will reintroduce our sweeping marsh vistas, antebellum homes, and quiet charm of the old south to a new generation of filmmakers. The legendary southern author and adopted Beaufort son, Pat Conroy, once called BIFF " the quintessential cultural event of the Lowcountry and South Carolina". Currently ranked in the Top 100 Best Reviewed Film Festivals in the World by FilmFreeway, your donations to the Beaufort Film Society will help us continue to provide a cultural event that we can all be very proud of.BIFF 2027 Sponsorship Levels

OBITUARY FOR LIZ ENTWISTLE Liz, Elizabeth, (Betty) (Mums)EntwistleJuly 12th, 1935 - May 26th, 2026Born and raised in Portland Oregon, until married life took her to the west coast of California & to the desert of Corrales, NM, where she lived, raised her children, and retired. In 2006 she made the move to Port Royal where she fell in love with saltwater life once again but thistime on the East Coast. Liz passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of May 26th, after an enjoyable day of reminiscing about old times with her three boys and families. She loved music, loved the Beaufort International Film Festival, and loved to dance, even in her nineties, most will remember her dancing in her "ZOOMER" chair to almost every music performance or festival Beaufort or Port Royal had to offer. Liz was widely loved, and she widely loved. Her 3 sons meant the world to her and every time any of us would visit she would introduce us to all, every time. She was a proud momma and even prouder wife. Liz was preceded in death by her love and Light William (Bill) Entwistle, her mother Ruby Engle, her mother-in-law, Margret Entwistle, sister Sondra and her newly found father, Halton Aaron Stephens. She leaves behind her three sons, Bill Entwistle (Partner Luis) Mike Entwistle, (wife Rebecca)John Entwistle, (wife Paula).
