Benini Foundation

Our mission

The Benini Foundation is dedicated to preserving the artwork and legacy of Italian-born artist Benini, fostering exploration, research and inspiration for students, art professionals and visitors. With a single artist museum - one of 300 worldwide – the foundation achieves this by preserving Benini’s artwork, showcasing revolving exhibitions in evolutionary sequence, offering educational tours, hosting community events and providing access to the fine arts library and archives. School tours, home schoolers, and academic groups are especially welcome. The Benini Foundation engages with the global fine arts community to promote contemporary art, especially single artist museums.

Located just south of Marble Falls, the 6500 sq.ft. Museo Benini was purpose-built in 2014 by Benini and his wife Lorraine, along with offices, storage buildings, and studio space. Set on 35 acres of rural Texas Hill Country, the museum and sculpture trails offer a creative sanctuary to promote and share the fine arts and protect the native flora and fauna, combining art and nature in a unique setting.

They support through memberships, donatons and volunteerism.

Museo Benini, built in 2014 near Marble Falls, Texas, is one of only 300 single artist museums in the world. We want to be here for generations. In 2024, we established a public charity foundation, and in June 2025 the Benini Foundation was granted a 501 (c)(3) to welcome contributions from corporations, foundations and lovers of art.Museo Benini and the previous cultural institutions owned by the Beninis – The Benini Galleries and Sculpture Ranch in Johnson City (2000-2014) and THEARTFOUNDATION (1988-2000) in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas were private art museums, with cultural events always funded by the sale of Benini’s artwork. This transition to the non-profit organization is designed for the future. The foundation board of directors is dedicated to preserving and continuing to exhibit Benini’s artwork in changing exhibitions, as well as continuing programming, educational tours and special events, such as the ARTS Encounters that celebrates creative professionals of wide-ranging topics – writers, artists, musicians, native plant specialists, etc. The focus is for this 6500 square foot museum - as well as the fine art collection, the 17,000-volume research library, studios and archives –to continue to serve its educational and cultural mission long into the future. The one mandate that Benini, as honorary chair, set before the board of directors was for the museum to always be open free of charge.Your donation will deepen our commitment for programming and future growth, and we thank you immensely.
