Help Restore the Berrong–Oakley HouseFor more than a century, the Berrong–Oakley House has stood as a symbol of Hiawassee's history. Built in 1905, this Queen Anne-style home is the last remaining Victorian-era residence in Hiawassee and one of the community's most significant historic landmarks.Today, the Towns County Historical Society is leading the effort to restore the home so it can once again serve the community. When complete, the house will become a community center and heritage and cultural center featuring local history exhibits, educational programs, community gatherings, and special events while preserving an irreplaceable piece of our past.Every gift, large or small, brings us one step closer to opening the doors of this remarkable home to future generations. Please note: Donations $100 or more are eligible for naming opportunities! The Towns County Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.Thank you for helping preserve the history, heritage, and culture of Towns County.
