The Sophie Manns Legacy Fund
BRRAlliance Board of Directors Past President Deneb Pirrone has established the Sophie Manns Legacy Fund as a way to help support the administrative and operational needs of the BRRAlliance. As a not for profit, the BRRAlliance operates on a very small margin of revenue from grants and project work it successfully attracts as investments into the community. Deneb recognizes that non-grant funded expenses are necessary for the organization to continue to grow, thrive and make an impact on the quality of life in our communities. By establishing this fund in honor of his maternal great-grandmother, Sohie Manns, he pays tribute to his family roots here in the northwest part of Buffalo and the memory of his great-grandmother.All donations to this fund are tax deductible as allowed by law as the BRRAlliance is a registered 501(c)3 not for profit.

🌱 Support northwest Buffalo with the Black Rock Riverside Alliance 🌳At the Black Rock Riverside Alliance, we work to nourish the communities of northwest Buffalo. Our passion for naturally integrated urban development helps transform Northwest Buffalo into flourishing, sustainable neighborhoods, with a focus on residential, natural, and economic health.Every year, we harvest hundreds of pounds of fresh produce from our three community gardens, free for the enjoyment of neighborhood residents of our food desert neighborhoodsWe support and advocate for projects like Rails-to-Trails, converting unused railroad paths into thriving eco-trailsWe maintain and operate Market Square Park, a pocket park on the heavily urbanized Niagara Street corridor that is open to the public and acts as a venue for outdoor events such as the Believe in Black Rock Childrens' Bike Parade, free music, and open-air marketsWe are further boosting the benefit of our community gardens by creating urban orchards, boosting garden sustainability while introducing more free, fresh fruit to our food desert communitiesYour generous gifts help us continue our work on behalf of northwest Buffalo.
