Blue Star Regiment Instrumental Music Association

The Blue Star Regiment Instrumental Music Association supports music education and performance for students, fostering creativity, teamwork, and discipline through instrumental music programs and community engagement.

We are asking for your financial support for the Blue Star Regiment, the marching band for John W. North High School in Riverside, CA. Our band is the largest band program in the Riverside Unified School District: 185 student musicians and performers in our ensemble. We are one of the few high school marching band programs that do not charge a mandatory fee to participating families. However, the support we offer our students has a real cost and we depend on financial donations from our community to make sure our band programs are successful, joyful, supported and safe. We have an annual budget of $99,600:

$ 42,500 to maintain our semi-trailer and to pay for transportation of instruments and props to competitive events

$ 7,000 to feed the kids during summer Band Camp training program

$ 8,750 for a banquet to celebrate our students' achievements

$ 3,800 for student leadership seminars & educational experiences

$ 4,500 to buy district-required insurance

$ 33,050 on entry fees and all the other bits and bobs that keep the kids looking sharp, playing well, and staying healthy.

If you can, we would be grateful for a donation of any size to support our program.
