Every Girl Deserves a Place Where She Belongs. Since 2020, Brown Girls Read has been creating safe, affirming spaces where girls can discover their voices, build confidence, and dream bigger. What began as a community book club has grown into a thriving nonprofit serving&nbsp;girls&nbsp; across the Upstate of South Carolina through literacy, leadership, mentorship, STEM, and entrepreneurship programming. Today, our greatest need isn&#39;t curriculum or ideas&mdash;it&#39;s space.As our programs continue to grow, we need a consistent place where girls can gather each Saturday for the EmpowerHer Innovators Academy. This program helps girls discover their talents, develop business ideas, strengthen leadership skills, explore future careers, and build confidence through mentorship, financial literacy, and experiential learning.Unfortunately, the cost of securing meeting space has increased, creating a barrier to continuing this life-changing work.
