Canteen 19

Canteen 19 supports first responders and their families affected by tragedies, like the Robbins Lumber Mill incident. Through fundraising events, we provide essential assistance for long-term recovery, ensuring they can focus on healing and rebuilding their lives.

The Battle of the Bears presented by Canteen 19 Is a Charity Fundraising Event to benefit the Waldo County Firefighters Association Benefit Fund for the Waldo County personnel impacted at the Robbins Lumber Mill explosion and fire May 15, 2026. This catastrophic incident resulted in two Line of Duty Deaths, Firefighter Andrew Cross and Assistant Chief Wayne Woodbury. Most recently Alden Robbins an employee of the Robbins Lumber Mill also succumbed to his injuries as a result of the incident. Several other Firefighters, EMS providers, and another RLM employee were transported with critical burns which will require extensive long term care, treatment, and rehabilitation over the next couple of years. When a patient is discharged from the burn center, it doesn&rsquo;t mean they are fully healed. It means they are able to go home, where they begin to navigate the next steps on their journey to healing. This can take several years of treatment, rehabilitation, wound care, and physical and occupational therapy. It is an entire change of life. Please join us in supporting all of our personnel impacted by this tragic incident.&nbsp; Every registration to this event will bring us closer to achieving our mission of providing assistance to our personnel as they navigate their recovery process.
