Blueberry's Big Move
Help Blueberry Make Her 650-Mile Journey to Her Forever Home! 🐾100% of proceeds for all items go to Blueberry's trip.Blueberry came to us as an orphan—small, scared, and facing a tough battle with an eye that was never going to heal. Even after losing her eye in surgery, her incredible spirit showed through. She kept eating, kept growing, and kept holding on with that classic, resilient opossum grit.Without full vision, Blueberry can’t be safely released back into the wild; an opossum needs both eyes to gauge distance and dodge roads, predators, and other daily hazards. But Blueberry’s story doesn't end here. She’s found a special third path - a new chapter as an Educational Ambassador. Blueberry has been accepted into the education program at the Orange Beach Wildlife Center on the Alabama Gulf Coast! As a licensed ambassador, she will teach children and families who might never otherwise see an opossum up close, helping foster a love and respect for local wildlife. Now, there is just one final hurdle: getting her from North Carolina to Alabama. How You Can Help? It’s a 650-mile trip, one of our dedicated volunteers, has stepped up to drive Blueberry to her new home. We are currently ensuring every agency permit and legal document is fully in place—we just need to cover the travel expenses to make the drive possible. We need to raise $1000 to fund:Round-trip fuel for the 1,300-mile journeyTravel crate & comfort supplies for a safe rideOne night of lodging on the road for volunteer and BlueberryEvery dollar counts! Together, we can give this brave little opossum the safe, meaningful future she deserves.Let's get Blueberry to Alabama!

Honorary Adoption
While we treat over 200 patients a year, there are a few cases where patients are in otherwise good health, but can’t be released back into the wild due to a broken wing or missing/damaged eye, which renders them unable to fly or hunt in the absence of binocular vision. We have 5 non-releasable animals which are part of our education program. These animals act as ambassadors by helping us understand more about wildlife and how humans have impacted the animal kingdom.HONORARY ADOPTIONS STATION INCLUDES:- An 8” x 10” photograph of your adopted animal- A copy of your animal’s story- A certificate of adoption- A plush animal toy- A CWS patch- Inclusion in our monthly newsletter- Tax-exempt donation receipt letter- The honor of knowing you’ve helped to feed an animal for a year!
