Cat's Eye Society

LXCL:Cat's Eye Society is dedicated to rescuing special needs cats at risk of euthanasia, providing them a sanctuary in Tacoma, WA. We are fostering community awareness, and promoting inclusive rescue practices for all felines.

Cat&#39;s Eye Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Tacoma, Wa rescuing busted and weird cats. Seriously. We take in the cats that are most at-risk in a traditional shelter system. The cats with physical disibilities, complex medical conditions, and undesirable behaviors. Why? Because we believe that all cats deserve to live in safety and comfort regardless of age, disability, or temperament.&nbsp; Cat&#39;s Eye Society needs to expand, and the cats need your help.&nbsp; If you have ever tried to find placement for a special needs cat you likely did not have much success. Shelters decline or offer euthanasia. Rescues are full. Private rehoming is sketchy at best. One thing is painfully clear... the world needs more resources for cats with challenges. We want to be able to say yes to every cat that shows up in our inbox, but the reality is that we cannot. Once we are at our capacity for care it would be irresponsible to continue intaking new cats. While we want to save all of the kitties, Cat&#39;s Eye Society will never settle for anything other than the highest standard of care for our residents. So what are we gonna do about it? I&#39;ll tell you what we&#39;re gonna do. We&#39;re going to raise enough money to secure a brick and mortar building to save hella busted cats. Right now Cat&#39;s Eye Society operates out of our (the founders, see below) home and a tiny but mighty group of foster homes. With a physical location we will be able to expand our capacity for care immensely, while also giving us a chance to connect directly with our community and with YOU, dear cat lover.&nbsp; We&#39;re on a mission to open a cat-sanctuary-meets-game-lounge (anyone here in marketing? shoot us an email. We need you, clearly.) in our beloved city of Tacoma, WA. The dream is a chill, comfy, home-like setting for the cats to hang until they find their homes. There will be tables to play board or card games, and comfy seating to relax and read a book with a cat on your lap. Because our cats spend a longer time in care than &quot;normal&quot; cats, it&#39;s important they have a enriching and cozy place where they will also continue to receive plenty of socialization. We&#39;re a big believer in the importance of the human animal bond, and we want this space to be a perfect example of it.&nbsp; Now you&#39;re thinking &quot;That&#39;s cool, I&#39;m in! how do I help make this happen?&quot; because you&#39;re a kind and generous cat freak like us. Well, like most things in life.... this will cost money. Bunches of it. While our peers were out there climbing corporate ladders and wisely investing, we have been spending all our money on cat diapers and churu (seriously, you wouldn&#39;t believe how many diapers we go through). Monetary donations are of course the bees knees, but if you don&#39;t have any spare dollars, that&#39;s totally ok! There&#39;s lots of other ways to help. Interacting with and sharing our social media posts is huge, as we make a small income from that. Telling your friends, maybe choosing our nonprofit for your birthday fundraiser, or graffii-ing our name all over town (JUST KIDDING don&#39;t do that) are all super helpful as well.&nbsp; So, if you&#39;ve ever felt there needs to be more options for the busted cats in this country, or if you just simply want to have a cool spot in town to hang with your friends and snuggle cats... now&#39;s the time.
