The Central Illinois Chapter of the American Sewing Guild fosters a community for sewing enthusiasts, promoting education, creativity, and collaboration through workshops, events, and shared projects to celebrate the art of sewing.

Join us for our June Luncheon, a fun time to get together, talk sewing and see what you&#39;ve been working on. &nbsp;No need to pay in advance, just pay for your lunch at the event. Also, just for fun, we are planning a contest. &nbsp;We ask that you bring along an old photo of yourself (baby picture, graduation, wedding, whatever!) &nbsp;We will put the photos on a table, and you can view the photos during the luncheon and try to figure out who they all are. &nbsp;The person(s) guessing the most correctly will win a prize. &nbsp;As always, please bring along items for show-and-share for us to all gush over!

All things Sewing, Crafting, Making! Cleaning out your craft/work room?&nbsp;Stuffto sell? Join us!! &nbsp; &nbsp; Sellers are responsible for pricing, negotiating, &amp; managing their own sales. Set up starts at 8:30 am. Show up with your items priced and ready to sell. Think about bringing some change. Bring a table if you need one. Church tables will not&nbsp;be available. Maker's Paradise Stash Sale

Join us for Community Service Sew Day ✂️🧵 Come help us sew bibs and cot sheets for Crittenton Center&rsquo;s Crisis nursery. Bring your sewing machine, basic sewing notions (scissors, pins/clips, etc.) and a variety of threads. We have fabric ready to sew. If you prefer not to bring your machine, there will be non-sewing tasks such as cutting elastic and ironing.&nbsp; Join us afterwards for lunch at a local restaurant. 40th Anniversary Party

Join us for a festive Christmas Luncheon! Our gathering brings together passionate sewists from Central Illinois for an time of camaraderie. Enjoy a delicious meal, share your latest projects, and connect with fellow members dedicated to the art and craft of sewing. All Central Illinois ASG Members and Guests are welcome! The only cost to you will be your lunch choice and tip. &nbsp; Menu options: Seafood Salad - A mound of lettuce with a generous serving of crabmeat and shrimp served with crackers. Croissants - Your choice of Turkey or Chicken salad with lettuce and tomato on a croissant, served with cottage cheese or fries.&nbsp; Veggie Wrap - Fresh seasonal veggies with a mango vinaigrette.&nbsp; French Dip - Roast Sirloin, grilled onions piled high on a French roll with au jus for dipping, served with French Fries.

Christmas Luncheon

Saturday&rsquo;s Lectures and Trunk Show:&ldquo;Inspiration, Fitting, and Tips for Sewing Your Knit Wardrobe&rdquo; &nbsp;Knits are a staple in all of our wardrobes, but many sew-ers are intimidated by working with these stretchy fabrics. &nbsp;Pamela will help take the fear out of selecting, cutting and sewing knit fabrics. &nbsp;Find out the easiest way to cut, the best machine and stitches to use, along with ready-to-wear secrets to get your seams, necklines and hems to lay smooth.&nbsp;Now that you are empowered to sew those knits, let&rsquo;s get that garment to fit just right! &nbsp;Women have fitting issues to deal with no matter what their size. &nbsp;Learn what you can do to make your garments fit better than anything you can buy. &nbsp;We&rsquo;ll discuss fitting issues such as high round back, forward and/or narrow shoulder, bust, abdomen and hips. &nbsp;You&rsquo;ll learn some easy ways to correct the most common fitting problems. &nbsp;Fashions made from knit fabrics will most likely be a part of every wardrobe, and if you are making your own, you won&rsquo;t want to miss helpful advice from this Knit expert!&nbsp;Pamela&rsquo;s Patterns Trunk Show &nbsp;What makes for well fitted garments? &nbsp;As our bodies mature, good fit becomes more difficult to achieve. &nbsp;Pamela will explain what changes we go through and how to alter patterns to get a more flattering look. &nbsp;Has it been awhile since you have attempted to make clothing for yourself? &nbsp;Come and be inspired to make simple and versatile pieces that work well for casual and dressy occasions &ndash; and everything in between. &nbsp;Get ideas on how to change a basic pattern to adapt for many different looks. &nbsp;See Pamela&rsquo;s Pattern customers in their own creations. &nbsp;In no time at all you&rsquo;ll be making your own wardrobe &ndash; Designed to Fit! Chanel Inspired Knit Cardigan &ndash; From your Fave T-Shirt Pattern&nbsp; &nbsp; A fashionable cardigan jacket has been a wardrobe staple for decades and is worn in settings from professional to dressy to weekend casual. Now you can make a Chanel-inspired jacket from a knit fabric, combining the style and versatility of a structured jacket with the comfort of a sweater. Pamela will show you how to adapt a basic T-shirt pattern to create a jacket that rivals costly ready-to-wear by names such as St John, Escada and Missoni.
