A holiday tradition, the Miss Merry Christmas and Little St. Nick contest encourages charitable giving and helps raise funds for local charities and family-oriented events throughout the year. Children are able to get involved, learn the importance of giving, and give back to their community! Each candidate will have a donation can at Hy-Vee and Bomgaars from November 2 through November 27 at 12 pm. A donation will be made to each charitable organization of choice: Chariton Public Library Foundation, Lucas County Food Bank, or Almost Home Animal Rescue. The girl and boy who raise the most money will be crowned during Dazzle Fest (November 28th) at Breakfast with Santa at 10 AM at the Sacred Heart Parish (407 N. Main St).
