Chromebooks for Colombia—Earthquake Relief
On August 10, 2026, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia — the strongest the country has recorded this century. Cali, Colombia’s third-largest city, was among the hardest hit. Schools across the region were damaged or destroyed, and thousands of students have lost not just classrooms but the daily routine and safe space that school provides in a crisis.Chromebooks for Colombia is a student-founded 501(c)(3). We began by refurbishing school-grade Chromebooks and delivering them into Colombian classrooms — our first shipment of 57 devices is on its way to Colegio José María Cabal in Cali, in partnership with Fundación Club Campestre de Cali. Now we’re raising funds to help rebuild. Money raised here goes directly toward repairing damaged school facilities and giving schools the resources to replace what they lost — furniture, supplies, and the everyday materials a classroom needs to reopen. We work through our partners on the ground in Cali, who know what each school actually needs.Every dollar helps a student get back into a classroom.
