Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at Cincinnati Section National Council of Negro Women&#39;s Freestore Foodbank volunteer day.&nbsp; You&rsquo;ll play an essential role in volunteering at the Bea Taylor Market (run by the Freestore Foodbank at 3401 Rosenthal Way in Cincinnati) is a great way to help our neighbors facing food insecurity.&nbsp; The Bea Taylor Market is the second-largest neighborhood food pantry among all Freestore Foodbank member agencies. It is a choice food pantry offering clients foods of their choice according to family composition, nutritional needs, cooking availability, and tastes. Fresh produce, pre-selected meals, and personal hygiene products augment client choices. Homeless clients receive special boxes with food that can be consumed without heating. The African American Historical Bus Tour (AAHBT) offers multicultural tours focused on the historic experiences of African Americans in Greater Cincinnati. The tour was created to address the need for deeper education about the origins of Africans in America and to highlight stories that honor the struggle, survival, and dignity of those harmed by enslavement. Cincinnati&rsquo;s position on the Ohio River tied the city&rsquo;s early economy to the slaveholding South. Even so, a courageous group of Cincinnatians became key allies in the fight for freedom, supporting enslaved people who escaped north. Their leadership helped make the &ldquo;Queen City&rdquo; a major destination on the Underground Railroad&mdash;the first multiethnic, multiracial, multiclass human rights movement in U.S. history&mdash;often referred to as Cincinnati&rsquo;s Underground Railroad. In response to this call to action, we are excited to launch our civic engagement efforts through NCNW&rsquo;s POWER UP initiative. We invite all NCNW members and affiliates to participate in a Constituent Visit to the office of Greg Landsman on April 30, 2026, from 12:00 PM &ndash; 1:00 PM POWER UP is designed to strengthen Black women&rsquo;s civic power, moving us beyond participation to sustained, measurable impact. While Black women remain one of the most consistent voting blocs in the country, we continue to face barriers such as voter suppression, disinformation, and inequitable policy outcomes. This initiative equips us with the tools, structure, and strategy to ensure our voices are heard and reflected in meaningful, lasting change. Cincinnati Section NCNW and NAN on the &ldquo;Get on the Bus&rdquo; March on Washington 🚌✊🏾 The Cincinnati Section National Council of Negro Women is proudly teaming up with regional partners to mobilize our community for the historic 63rd Anniversary March on Washington. NCNW is coordinating a dedicated round‑trip bus ride from Cincinnati to Washington, D.C., ensuring our members, families, and supporters can travel together in solidarity.&nbsp; The bus will depart Cincinnati, arrive in D.C. for the march and voter‑engagement activities, and return immediately afterward, allowing participants to make the full journey in one continuous, purposeful movement. This collaboration reflects our commitment to protecting democracy, amplifying community voices, and standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with national organizations in the ongoing fight for justice and voting rights. &nbsp;Your registration helps us stand together, be counted, and lift our collective voice. In partnership with our sister Ohio NCNW Section, we will come together to raise informed, collective voices on issues affecting Black women, families, and communities across Ohio.During this advocacy day, we will focus on issues impacting the Cincinnati community and have the opportunity to engage with policymakers and advocate for meaningful change.NCNW has an established national process for Statehouse advocacy visits to ensure we are prepared, organized, and effective in our engagement.&nbsp;Additional information, including the day-of flow, preparation details, and expectations, will be provided by September 1.
