LXCL:The mission of Dearing House is hearing, helping, healing children. Our vision is to end the effects of abuse suffered by every child who comes through our doors. We accomplish this by unifying the efforts of the community to respond to victims of child abuse so that the child has a voice and receives all the help needed on their way to healing from trauma.

Engaging With Native Nations in Child Protection brings together child welfare professionals, advocates, and community partners to learn practical ways to work respectfully with Native families and Tribes 🤝. Every interaction with a child and family is an opportunity to build trust and promote healing. &nbsp;This engaging training explores the history, culture, and strengths of Native American communities, the lasting impact of historical trauma, and practical strategies for building authentic partnerships with Tribal Nations. &nbsp;Participants will leave with greater cultural awareness, actionable tools, and increased confidence to better serve Native children and families. &nbsp;Presented by Deanna Chancellor, Project Manager, Native Child Advocacy Resource Center.&nbsp;Register below to join the conversation and strengthen your child protection practice 🌱.

12th Annual Fish Fry for the Small Fry 2026

Join us for the 4th Annual Steppin Out to Stop Child Abuse Walk on Friday, April 17 at Noon at Dearing House where Advocates of all ages will stroll to City Central (approx 1 mile) wearing blue to show unity and commitment to safe and healthy children in our community. Registration is FREE and FREE t-shirts will be available for a limited time. Reserve your shirt size and pick them up at Northern Oklahoma Youth Services 2203 North Ash, Ponca City during business hours April 13-16 or at the event at Dearing House 311 S 13th.&nbsp; When citizens make a commitment to events such as this, the ripple effect is a community culture that everyone has a role in creating safe environments for children!

4th Annual Walk "Steppin' Out to Stop Child Abuse"

2025 Fish Fry for the Small Fry Tasting Kits and Sponsorships!

Looking forward to wonderful choices of fish, meat, sides and desserts at this fun, family-friendly event?  Would you enjoy it more under big canopies protecting you and your family from the summer heat?  A gift of $30 as a tent supporter gets your business or family name hung on the tent posts so that every one knows to thank you for supporting the tents...and providing the shade.  June 21 at 6 p.m. at Standing Bear Park!  All proceeds from the event support our mission of hearing, helping, healing victims of child abuse!

A fun, family event, much like a tailgate party, where many local businesses, churches, programs, schools, and individuals prepare their best recipes for fish, meat, side dishes, and desserts, all vying for your vote for people's choice awards. There are activities for children, plenty of shade, live music, and great fun to enjoy!  Tasting kits are $10 and children under 10 eat free with their grownups!   All the teams volunteer their time and their food to offer outstanding flavors and wonderful treats! Sponsors receive two free tasting kits (available at the event).
