Delaware Sexuality & Gender Collective

Join our friends at Brandywine Creek State Park and the Delaware Astronomical Society to learn the tips, tools, and basics of stargazing! We&#39;ll have a great mix of education, light hiking, and practicing stargazing skills. QSD - Intro to Stargazing

Queer Scouts and Delaqueer are going camping! &nbsp;We&#39;ve booked a few campsites at Trap Pond for a fun weekend of crafts, hiking, biking, and kayaking! &nbsp;There are a few different ways for you to join us: Delaqueer and Queer Scouts have booked campsites B25, 27, 29, and 31. &nbsp;You can JOIN OUR CAMPSITE and bring your own gear/food ($5,) JOIN OUR CAMPSITE and we will provide most of the gear and food ($30,) or BOOK YOUR OWN CAMPSITE/provide your own gear and food (FREE to us but campsite fees paid to TPSP.) &nbsp;You can join for both nights, just one, or stop by for some fun during the day/evening and not camp overnight! Delaqueer will check into their sites around 1pm on Friday and Queer Scouts will check in a few hours later. &nbsp;As the weekend gets closer, we&#39;ll send a very detailed itinerary and packing list.&nbsp; Please message us with any questions!

Queer Scouts/Delaqueer Camp Out!

Join our friends at Trap Pond State Park to learn the basics of canoeing and kayaking - and get on the water to explore the Bald Cypress trail! You will be paddling your own boat during this event. &nbsp;All boats are rented through Trap Pond and the cost is included in your registration fee. &nbsp;Due to space constraints, registration is LIMITED! TPSP is charging a flat fee per person for this event, part of which Queer Scouts is subsidizing. Meeting location will be sent upon registration confirmation.

QSD - Paddling at Trap Pond

Join us at White Clay Creek State Park for our August hike! &nbsp; It&#39;s going to be hot, so we&#39;re planning a shorter evening hike to get a bit of a break from the sun. &nbsp;Pending interest, we can also have a Woodside Creamery trip afterwards! We&#39;ve picked a ~2 mile loop that will lead us over packed earth trails and take us to the Arc Monument (marking the start of the arc that makes up the DE/PA border.) &nbsp;We&#39;ll debrief in the parking lot before and after the hike! Join us at Blackbird State Forest for our July hike! &nbsp; It&#39;s going to be hot, so we&#39;re planning a shorter evening hike to get a bit of a break from the sun. &nbsp;Pending interest, we can also have a Waffle House trip afterwards! We&#39;ve picked a ~2 mile loop that will take us over packed earth trails, with some fun foliage and pinecones to see. &nbsp;We&#39;ll debrief in the parking lot before and after the hike! QSD - July Hike

Brandywine Creek has extra binoculars but feel free to bring your own. &nbsp;BCSP is charging a flat fee per person for this event, part of which Queer Scouts is subsidizing. Meeting location will be sent upon registration confirmation.

QSD - Birding Basics

Join Eric on a tube float down Brandywine Creek! &nbsp; Scouts can choose to start early (9am) and join Eric on a hike to the water, or meet us at the trailhead and get right to floating (10am.) &nbsp;We&#39;ll float for a few miles down the Creek and have plenty of time to chat and enjoy the scenery. QSD - Tubing Down the Brandywine

Join Heather to learn basic Wilderness First Aid! Skills include:&nbsp; - Assessing the scene for safety- Identifying the signs of heat and cold related illness, shock, and more- Addressing bleeding, animal and insect bites, and minor dislocations and sprains All experience levels are welcome! &nbsp; Due to space constraints, we are limiting registration to 20 Scouts. &nbsp;Thank you for your understanding! QSD - Wilderness First Aid

Join us at Lums Pond State Park for our May hike -- led by Kate! We&#39;ve picked an out and back section of the trail that is around 5 miles. &nbsp;The trail is packed earth and crosses some bridges, docks, and paved sections. It runs through the marsh and around the pond. &nbsp;We&#39;ll debrief in the parking lot before and after the hike! QSD- Foraging & Plant Identification

Welcome to the 2026 Season for Queer Scouts Delaware! &nbsp;We&#39;re kicking things off with a hike at White Clay Creek State Park. &nbsp;If you registered for your Scouting membership, we&#39;ll be distributing all of your gear at the beginning of the program. We&#39;ve picked an easy 2.4 mile loop with 226ft of elevation game to get our legs warm for the season.&nbsp; The trail is packed earth and narrow and will require single file walking for much of it.&nbsp; It runs through the woods and along the creek.&nbsp; We&#39;ll debrief in the parking lot before and after the hike! Dating as far back to the 1700s, Wilmington has always had a vibrant LGBTQIA+ history. &nbsp;But this lively city has been without a dedicated space for the community for nearly 40 years.&nbsp; Until now!&nbsp;We are very proud to join in on the movement to re-establish Wilmington as the social hub for the LGBTQIA+ community! &nbsp;The Collective will bring the community together to create, inspire, learn, and be joyful! Delaware&#39;s first LGBTQIA+ history museum, one of the nation&#39;s first visitor center dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ businesses and organizations, a coworking space, and a community space! &nbsp;We have it all - come and explore The Collective!

Join our friends at Alapocas Run State Park to learn the basics of outdoor rock climbing - and get some practice time on the wall! You will be wearing a harness and helmet during this event, and climbing the outdoor rockwall while being belayed by State Park staff.&nbsp;&nbsp;Due to space constraints, registration is LIMITED and for Registered Scouts ONLY! Alapocas Run State Park is charging a flat fee per person for this event, part of which Queer Scouts is subsidizing.
