Kid Curators invites young people to step behind the scenes and explore how history is discovered, preserved, and shared in Des Moines. Participants will examine historical objects, learn how items are taken care of, and help tell the story of our community&rsquo;s past Designed for ages 5&ndash;12 with an accompanying adult.

Learn how to create ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions and Originals) while exploring images and stories from Des Moines&rsquo; past. We&rsquo;ll use historical photos and local landmarks as inspiration for small, collectible works of art. This hands-on program supports our mission of discovering, preserving, and sharing the history of the greater Des Moines area. No art experience is required; materials and guidance are provided, including card sleeves to protect your art!

Cascades &amp; Cabernet invites you to unwind with a glass of wine (or two)🍷 while enjoying a cozy, relaxing paint-by-numbers craft of your choosing. All tickets include a paint-by-numbers kit and all needed supplies, two complimentary drink tickets, non-alcoholic beverages, and light snacks and charcuterie. Tickets include a choice between three paint-by-numbers designs to dress up your gallery wall. Kit selection will be on a first-come, first pick basis the evening of the event. Tickets are $65 each or a pair of tickets for $120 so you and your bestie can paint, sip, and enjoy cozy autumn vibes. Minimum number of tickets sold to hold the event is 20. If this number is not reached, all attendees will receive full refunds. No refunds will be available after October 8th. Your registration supports the Des Moines Historical Society&rsquo;s work to preserve, share, and celebrate local history through exhibits, programs, and community events 🏛️.
