Dylan's Dogs for Diabetes

Dylan's Dogs for Diabetes empowers families affected by Type 1 Diabetes by providing trained diabetic alert dogs. Our mission is to enhance lives through the support and companionship of these dogs, fostering healthier, happier futures for those in need.

Grayson is a 12-year-old who was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).&nbsp; Living with T1D can be an extreme challenge, especially for a 12-year-old and his family. It takes a lot phsically, mentally, and emotionally to cope. Having a diabetic alert dog (DAD) is a life-changing advantage. DADs are service dogs trained to alert their owners when the blood sugar has dropped too low or spiked too high. DADs act as an early warning system, enabling their owners to do what is needed to raise or lower their blood sugar befoe they experience significant events.

Together, we&rsquo;re giving one family safety, sleep, and a trusted four‑legged partner. 💙 Lucas was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) two years ago at the age of 17. He is now 19, and a sophomore at Auburn University, where he is studying mechanical engineering with the hopes of one day working for a racing team. Since diagnosis, he has risen to every challenge that he has faced and has never let T1D define him. He is energetic, outgoing, and active in campus life. Having a service dog would be a huge blessing to Lucas, as well as his family. Being two hours away from home can be scary when highs or lows hit, especially in the middle of the night or while being physically active. Having a service dog to help detect the highs and lows earlier would be a huge relief for Lucas, as well as his mom, who worries.
