Hemos decidido honrar a Roni apoyando a El Sistema.

A Colorado native, Roni Williams' passion for strings started after watching Squidward play a violin on SpongeBob SquarePants. She began the violin in 4th grade and switched to the viola in 5th grade. She auditioned for the orchestra at Denver School of the Arts and was thrilled to be accepted in 8th grade. While there, she also began to play piano and dabbled in guitar. She enjoyed playing classical music and was especially fond of Mahler. She listened to hip hop and pop and even tolerated her mom’s 80’s music. Roni struggled with mental illness and unfortunately passed by suicide in September 2018. Her playful nature, light hearted humor, infectious smile and generous hugs will be forever missed by those who knew and loved her. We have chosen to honor Roni by supporting El Sistema. Our hope is that the Roni Williams viola fund will continue Roni’s legacy by bringing the joy of music to BIPOC children. Your gift to the Roni Williams Viola Fund opens doors for young musicians in El Sistema Colorado’s scholarship-based programs. You help students from low-income families receive high-quality viola instruction, an instrument, and a supportive musical community. 🎻 Donations sustain advanced opportunities like private lessons and masterclasses. You’re investing in Colorado’s young leaders as they build confidence, discipline, and a lifelong connection to music. Please contact a counselor, family member, friend, or emergency services if you arehaving suicidal thoughts. Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: 988
