The Erie County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs promotes outdoor activities, conservation, and education through events like National Hunting & Fishing Day, fostering a community of outdoor enthusiasts and encouraging family engagement in nature.

Be sure you have selected the correct date above. &nbsp;You must register for each date separately. &nbsp;All participants are required to register. &nbsp;This is a LEARNING EVENT for the whole family. &nbsp;Prizes will be awarded to kids 15 and under. &nbsp;You can register two adults and up to 3 kids on a single form. &nbsp;Use multiple forms if needed. The &ldquo;Teach Me to Fish&rdquo; program features interactive discovery stations where participants can learn casting techniques, knot tying, fish identification and handling, how to use plastic baits, and where to fish locally. The events are open to everyone, with a special focus on introducing youth to safe, responsible outdoor recreation. Rods and reels will be available to borrow, though participants are welcome to bring their own equipment. No fishing license is required, and worms will be provided for bait. Children ages 15 and under will receive a prize for participating. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The ECFSC &ldquo;Teach Me to Fish&rdquo; program is made possible through funding provided by the Erie County Legislature.For additional information, visit ECFSC.org or call (716) 533-4070.

2026 Teach Me to Fish

The County Executive is calling a public hearing for Wednesday the 13th at 3 pm on the 14th floor of 95 Franklin Street in Buffalo. This hearing will be to discuss Local Law 3-1-2026, the youth hunting law allowing 12 and 13 year-olds to hunt deer under proper supervision. The Erie County Federation has secured a bus to attend the public hearing. &nbsp;There are 44 seats on the bus. &nbsp;Bus will leave from Cabela&#39;s - 2003 Walden Ave. Cheektowaga, load at 1:15pm and leave at 1:30pm. We will leave the Rath Bldg at 4pm and return to Cabela&#39;s. We need the help of all those who can attend. &nbsp;Poloncarz vetoed the last one four years ago because he said &quot;nobody showed, they don&#39;t really care...&quot;, we need to show him we do! &nbsp; If you are able to make a donation to offset the cost, it is greatly appreciated!
