Follow Your Art Community Studios is an independent nonprofit arts center in Melrose, MA that builds community by supporting creative endeavors for all ages and abilities through visual arts, writing, and performance.

Led by the <a fr-original-style="" href="http://fyamelrose.org" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Follow Your Art</a> team, Art at the Market brings hands-on, inclusive art experiences to the <a fr-original-style="" href="https://melrosefarmersmarket.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Melrose Farmers&#39; Market</a>. Over the course of the summer we&rsquo;ll host five free workshops that welcome everyone of all ages and abilities to create art in a shared community experience. Participants will get to create alongside local artists, connect with neighbors, and express their creativity through simple techniques. The workshops will draw inspiration from the market environment and local farm produce, and will culminate in a community gallery show hosted at Follow Your Art on September 11, 2026. Details: ~ Sign up for a 30 minute time slot to complete your project.&nbsp;~ Workshops are designed for all ages, however children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult and fill one spot together (caregiver and child work together on one project).~ Participation is free, but donations are welcome to support Follow Your Art&rsquo;s Arts for All program and the Market&rsquo;s SNAP Match program.~ Artwork can be submitted on site at no cost to be in our Art at the Market gallery show at FYACS for the month of September. All are welcome and encouraged to participate! Workshop Description: June 18, 2:00 - 4:00pm: No Peeking Contour DrawingDraw what you see, but don&rsquo;t peek at your picture! This is a fun way to practice line drawing using inspiration from the market. Our abstracted still-life artwork will be finished in watercolor; this is a fun activity for all abilities! This project is made possible because of grant funding from the wonderful Melrose Cultural Council.
