🌱 Indigenous Peoples Day at the Farm at Cabbage Hill 🌱Monday, October 129:30AM-11:30AM Join For the People and Kids at Cabbage Hill for a special day of slowing down, listening, learning, and connecting with the land. Together, children and families will explore Indigenous perspectives on growing, harvesting, and caring for the earth, with a special focus on the Three Sisters Garden—corn, beans, and squash, and the ways these plants grow together in harmony. 🌽🫘🎃 Through hands-on garden activities, stories, mindful movement, and time outdoors, we’ll discover how plants, people, and the land are all connected. This gathering reflects For the People and Kids, Inc.’s mission of building community through shared discovery and creating meaningful opportunities for children and families to learn together outdoors.

We’re excited to share the next step in expanding our learning and we would love your support. As the seasons change, we want to ensure that our students can continue to grow, explore, and learn through the colder months. To make this possible, we are working to purchase grow lights for our Tower Garden, allowing us to launch a year-round Tower Garden program and keep hands-on, nature-based learning going all year long. Your support will help us create a space where children can continue planting, harvesting, and engaging with food and wellness, even in the colder months. It’s more than just gardening, it’s about nurturing curiosity, building healthy habits, and keeping kids connected to the natural world year-round. If you’re able, we would be so grateful for a donation to help bring this program to life. Every contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful impact. Thank you for considering supporting this initiative and for being part of our growing community. For The People & Kids 🌱

Give Your Child a Consistent, Nature-Based Rhythm This Fall! Our immersive Fall Learning Garden Program gives children the opportunity to explore, create, discover, and grow through meaningful, hands-on experiences in nature. From gardening and culinary arts to nature exploration, Bird Club, and outdoor enrichment, children learn by doing while building curiosity, confidence, creativity, and a deeper connection to the natural world. Each farm day includes three engaging one-hour classes, creating a purposeful three-hour learning experience. While every class offers its own unique focus, the curriculum is intentionally connected through our STREAM-based approach, bringing together Science, Technology, Reading/Research, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through real-world experiences. Learners begin to see the connections between what they learn and the world around them, whether they are growing and preparing food, observing birds and wildlife, investigating ecosystems, designing solutions, creating art, or exploring the science behind the farm. This integrated approach allows learning to unfold naturally across the season, with each experience building upon the next. 🌱 Tuesdays10:00–11:00 AM | Gardening with Katie Get hands-on in the garden while learning about plants, soil, seasonal growing, and sustainable gardening practices.11:00 AM–12:00 PM | Bird Explorers with Susan Discover the birds that call the farm home while developing observation, identification, and nature-listening skills.12:00–1:00 PM | Rewilding School with Jessie Explore the natural world through hands-on activities that encourage children to observe, understand, and connect with the ecosystems around them.
