Please help us raise funds for materials and wonderful programs at the library! This committee oversees book sales and can plan other fundraisers. The library currently sells books daily, and does large sales at least once a year. Volunteers are always needed and must be scheduled to help unpack the books, arrange them on tables, help with sales, and organize the materials regularly.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Ottawa County, Oklahoma
We are delighted by the success of launching the Friends of the Miami Public Library partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program at imaginationlibrary.com, covering the entirety of Ottawa County. As of May 1, 2024, we have enrolled over 785 children from Ottawa County! We are asking for your help. Our aim is to enroll 60% of the eligible children in our county, and we rely on the financial support of our community members and leaders to ensure the program's success. It is crucial to highlight that children who are regularly read to at a young age exhibit enhanced language comprehension, expanded vocabularies, and improved cognitive abilities compared to their peers. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL) provides children aged birth to 5 with a free, age-appropriate book delivered to their door every month. This adds up to 60 free books per child! The only requirements are that the child(ren) must be aged between birth and five years old and reside in Ottawa County. Each year, 2,633 children in Ottawa County could benefit from this initiative. Since the program's inception, DPIL has distributed over 213 million books, with more than 2,546,963 children enrolled across five countries. Each sponsor will receive recognition on the Miami Public Library and Friends of the Library Facebook pages, as well as on the Miami Public Library website. Additionally, one sponsor will be acknowledged monthly on the books sent to children in Ottawa County. To support this initiative for children in our community, consider making a one-time or recurring annual donation.
