Join our JR Academy Class!The DRC Jr. Academy is designed for our youngest anglers who are not yet ready for the more advanced Dry Run Creek Academy levels. Using a hands-on, student-centered approach, instructors work with each child at their own pace, adapting lessons to individual abilities, attention spans, and confidence levels. Students will learn basic fishing skills, fish handling, safety, and conservation while enjoying a fun and encouraging introduction to trout fishing on Dry Run Creek. An adult must accompany all students.The Dry Run Creek Academy offers three levels of instruction: Brook, Rainbow, and Brown. At the fourth level, Cutthroat, students must demonstrate their ability to catch all four species of trout. The academy is free, and no equipment or supplies are required. The Jr. Academy is expected to be 1.5 to 2 hours long and each additional level is 3 to 4 hours, including fishing on Dry Run Creek. Instruction will be provided at the Norfork National Fish Hatchery visitor center, with fishing on Dry Run Creek. Please note that students must be under 16 years old to fish on Dry Run Creek.Dry Run Creek Academy: Ages 9-15DRC Jr Academy: Ages 6-8*All DRC students must be accompanied by an adult.
