Girls Who Hike Virginia empowers women+ through outdoor adventures, fostering community and wellness. They offer inclusive hiking and wellness events, promoting confidence and connection with nature while ensuring accessibility for all participants.

The 2026 GWHVA Summit&nbsp;is back for our 4th annual gathering! The Summit is all about connection, curiosity, and community. It&rsquo;s your chance to slow down, learn something new, and share meaningful moments with fellow women+ both on and off the trails! Get ready for full weekend of cozy campfires and lots of laughter. From trail time to fireside conversations, the Summit is designed to spark reflection, build new skills, and create the kind of shared experience that stays with you long after you&rsquo;ve packed up your gear. We hope you&rsquo;ll join us for a weekend that fills your cup and fuels your spirit! A quick note on registration: Please don&#39;t register on behalf of other people. Every Summit guest needs to read and sign our waiver in their own name, and that happens as part of the registration process. Girls Who Hike Virginia is pleased to be partnering with Rangers Diego &amp; Sarah from Virginia State Park&#39;s Let&#39;s Go! Adventures Program&nbsp;for Kayaking at Fairy Stone State Park! *All experience levels are welcome.* Program Description:&nbsp;Paddling a kayak gives you a new perspective of the world. Paddling safely opens the floodgates to a lifetime of adventures. This 4-hour class will cover the basics of paddling skills, including how to select and fit a PFD, different types of kayaks, planning and safety, and proper paddling strokes. Participants will practice in-water rescues and should be prepared to get wet. Participants should bring lunch, snacks, plenty of water, sunscreen and a change of clothing. Please wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes that can get wet/muddy. We will provide all paddles, PFDs and boats. Space is limited to 10 participants (including hosting GWHVA Ambassadors).Hosted by GWHVA Ambassadors Rebbecca &amp; Valerie along with Rangers Diego &amp; Sarah. Participants should bring snacks, plenty of water, and sunscreen. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy.&nbsp; **Parking Instructions**: Parking Instructions &amp; meet-up spot will be sent to participants the week of event. **Fees**: $17 registration fee plus $10.00 State Park Entry/Parking Fees Apply(Parking is Free if you already have a current Virginia State Parks annual &nbsp;pass. You may be able to check out a VSP pass at your local library. &nbsp;Alternatively, you can get free parking at any VSP with a receipt from REI - detach the bottom of the receipt to present to the ranger at the contact station or place in self-pay Parking Pass envelope. Be sure to get an actual paper receipt at check-out. &nbsp;A digital emailed receipt will *not* work.) $17 Registration Fee is nonrefundable, unless the programming is cancelled and the state park issues a refund due to the cancellation. **Who is this event for?**: Women+&nbsp; **Weather contingency plan**: Cancellation with refund if weather conditions are determined to be hazardous in advance. If day-of weather conditions are not ideal for paddling on the water, we will provide a program on shore as a safer alternative. The Let&rsquo;s Go Adventures staff will lead a guided hike with either bird or plant identification as a focus. **Preparedness and what to bring**:&nbsp;~Appropriate clothing and closed-toe footwear~Water~Sunscreen~Insect repellent We want this event to be welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for everyone. Please reach out with any considerations (e.g., disability, wellness, cultural, etc.) you want us to know about in advance of the event. During the registration process, please consider donating to GWHVA. What will your donation do?
