Mentoring and Coaching with Dr. Gordon Jones
Welcome to Mentoring and Coaching with Dr. Gordon Jones. Hi, I am Dr. Gordon Jones. I call myself retired, but I am not resting. I want to spend this season investing my experience and my wisdom into your specific situation. I am not doing this through an AI bot or a prepackaged video course. I want to work with people I can actually talk to, one on one, where we get to know each other and dig into the real problems you want solved and the opportunities you want to chase. A little context so you know who you are talking to. I grew up as a military officer’s son, then went on to serve myself, starting as a Private in the 82nd Airborne and finishing as a Captain in the South Carolina State Guard.I understand discipline, chaos, and leadership when things are not comfortable. Academically, I started at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, earned a business degree, then a degree in International Studies at the University of South Carolina, and finally a Masters and Doctorate in Health Administration. So, I speak both “boots on the ground” and “boardroom and policy.” In business, I helped merge 92 primary care physicians into one group; that was like herding cats! I also built independent physician associations across several states in the SE that we rolled into a nationwide organization that went public on NASDAQ. After that, I moved into health tech.First, I helped roll up bunch of small medical billing companies that was sold to the world’s largest health tech company at the time.I then dove into building products; from early web-based health services to the first live streaming app on the iPhone that allowed for first responders to view 911 calls live. I also help build a mobile patient tracking systems that was deployed across the US. I even helped import the first computer assisted surgery system in to the US. It’s purpose was for placing dental implants and the amazing part of the tech was it was based on Israeli missile guidance system technology.I am co-founder of a business incubator instructing entrepreneurs from startup to exit; and for decades, I was a professor teaching at the university level. Financially, I have run the gamut, from nothing to successful to bankrupt and back to being able to officially retire comfortably, and be here to help you. I have been an athlete my whole life.State champion in high school soccer, Gold medalist with Team USA at the World Beach Ultimate Championships. Many endurance races including multiple marathons and Ironmans; most recently winning the South Carolina state championship in my division for men’s singles in pickleball. I am a certified coach and author of AI in Sports.I understand performance, discipline, injury, recovery and the importance of sleep for coming back when your body and mind are exhausted.I have written over a dozen books in personal development and daily Christian living; and I write regularly on LinkedIn to share what I am learning. On the family side of life, my wife and I have adopted five children with various special needs, both domestic and international. This has been both the hardest and most rewarding part of my life.Out of our family foundation we have launched nonprofits, including Apparo Academy, an integrative therapeutic education model school, that combines therapy and education for children with special needs and other abilities. So, whether you are an entrepreneur, an executive, a parent navigating special needs, an athlete, or someone trying to rebuild life from the ground up, I probably have a lens that can help. Here is how I work. I have about 80 hours a month set aside to mentor people who want to lean on my experience. No big program. No long term contract. I simply charge by the hour.We decide together how many hours you need each month and adjust up or down as you grow. If this resonates with you, here is what to do next. Click the calendar link near this video, grab a short free intro call, and we will talk. No pressure. We will see where you are, what you hope for, and whether it makes sense to keep working together. If it does, we will build a plan and get moving. If not, you’ll still walk away with a few ideas I’m sure. Simple as that.I look forward to meeting you.Cheers, Gordon
