💜🐕‍🦺 HELP HAKA BUILD A K9 SEARCH & RESCUE TEAM 🐕‍🦺💜 When disaster strikes, every minute matters.HAKA is building a K9 Search & Rescue Team on Hawaiʻi Island to help locate missing and vulnerable people during hurricanes, wildfires, floods, lava events, and other emergencies. Our goal is to develop highly trained K9 and handler teams that can work alongside emergency responders and community partners when specialized search capabilities are needed. Our work is rooted in kuleana, our responsibility to care for one another and the communities we call home. Developing a qualified K9 SAR team requires extensive training, certification, specialized equipment, veterinary care, transportation, communications, and ongoing field exercises. Your support can help make that possible. Your donation will help HAKA: 🐕‍🦺 Train and certify K9 and handler teams in Search and Rescue 🎓 Provide specialized SAR training and continuing education 🦺 Purchase PPE, K9 safety equipment, harnesses, tracking systems, and field gear 📡 Strengthen GPS, radio, and emergency communication capabilities 🚐 Develop mobile deployment capacity for remote and hard-to-access areas ⛑️ Provide K9 first aid, veterinary support, and emergency medical supplies 🗺️ Conduct realistic field exercises and search scenarios 🤝 Build partnerships with emergency responders and other SAR organizations Why K9 Search & Rescue?A trained search dog can use its extraordinary sense of smell to cover terrain and locate people in conditions where traditional searching may be difficult, dangerous, or time-consuming. On Hawaiʻi Island, our geography creates unique challenges. Dense forests, lava fields, steep terrain, rural communities, and vast search areas can make locating a missing person extremely difficult. A locally based K9 SAR capability means trained teams can be closer, more familiar with our island’s terrain, and better prepared to respond when time matters most. This is about more than training dogs. It is about saving lives, supporting families, and strengthening Hawaiʻi Island’s emergency response capacity. 💜 BE A HAKA HEROHelp us build a trained, equipped, and deployment-ready K9 Search & Rescue Team for Hawaiʻi Island. Donate today and help us answer the call when someone is missing and every second counts. 🐕‍🦺🌺
