As we watch the genocide in Gaza, we face the reality that many Palestinians will suffer and sacrifice. Year-round, Healing our Homeland allocates funds and secures supplies for aid to families in Gaza. Since the October 2023 attack on Gaza, we have reached thousands of Palestinians and hope to help many more. The funds collected here are used to purchase food, formula, and diapers, blankets, clothes, sanitary pads, hygiene products etc. and we have distributed the aid in various areas along the Gaza Strip. Palestinians and pro-Palestinian activists and organizers are being targeted across the country. We are seeing arrests almost every day. Even children are being arrested at peaceful protests! We created this fund so that if anyone within our central Florida community is arrested, we can be prepared and move fast to bail them out and provide legal support. When people know that we will support them if they are targeted by law enforcement it makes people feel safer when joining actions. They want to silence us and scare us into backing down. We won’t let that happen. We want to keep our community safe, while also resisting oppression and calling for a free Palestine and liberation for all people.
