Healing With Horses Ranch

Healing with Horses Ranch is a 501c3 nonprofit providing equine-assisted services in Central Texas. We help individuals build resilience, independence, & strong relationships in a safe, inclusive environment where growth is lasting & life-changing.

Women’s Virtual Process Group is your optional supportive online space to reflect on the recent group experience at the ranch and share what you’re processing and carrying. While our horses aren’t on the screen, this group is grounded in the same values that guide our equine-assisted work: connection and choice!

Women's Virtual Process Group

Healing with Horses Ranch is hosting a virtual parent workshop designed to provide an introduction to understanding children's behavior through a nervous system lens, drawing from the work of Robyn Gobbel, including concepts presented in Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors (her book) and her parent education curriculum. Objectives

Explore the concepts of connection, co-regulation, and felt safety.

Gain practical tools for responding to challenging behaviors from a compassionate and effective perspective.

Understand how relational experiences support nervous system regulation and resilience.

Facilitator: Michael Ann Starr, LCSWMichael is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning (ESMHL) who works with our equine-assisted psychotherapy clients. Michael has loved horses since childhood and was thrilled to join the herd at Healing with Horses in 2022. She works with children, teens, and adults, and may be a good fit for your family if you or your child is experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or loss. She also specializes in working with youth showing behavioral difficulties at home or school, those who have experienced a traumatic or difficult event, and youth or families experiencing difficulty adjusting to a life change. When she’s not seeing clients, Michael loves singing, swimming, hanging with her cats, or playing with her rambunctious toddler.Email: michael.starr@healingwithhorsesranch.org

Join us at our Crawfish Boil 2026 🦞 Support our no-cost equine-assisted services for veterans, active duty service members, and first responders. We eat together family-style, complete with all the fixins from Eastside Boilers, live music, a live auction, and the fan-favorite Horse Poop Bingo.

This hands-on workshop is designed for the parents of youth & teens who want to strengthen connection, reduce power struggles, and set clear boundaries without yelling or shutdowns. Guided by a licensed therapist & equine specialist, parents will explore nervous system regulation, co-regulation, attachment, and the difference between calm leadership & control. This small-group experience blends psychoeducation with experiential work alongside our herd. It is only for parents to attend. "I think this program should be marketed to all parents of HHR participants as a resource, support and community building program. It was great for perspective as a teen parent, but it would have been incredible when my kiddo was younger as well." - Past Participant
