Historic Macon Foundation preserves and revitalizes Macon's historic architecture and neighborhoods, fostering community engagement and appreciation for the city's rich heritage through education, advocacy, and restoration efforts.

Walk the paths of Rose Hill Cemetery and explore the stories behind the Allman Brothers Band 🎵. Join resident tour guides Kathleen O&#39;Neal and Liz Riley and Historic Macon for a tradition 40+ years in the making to learn how these sacred burial grounds connect to Macon&#39;s music history. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes, sun protection, and bring a bottle of water with you for this 1.5 hour walking tour. We will be walking along a paved route, but may occasionally take detours onto unpaved parts of the cemetery. Be mindful that Rose Hill has big elevation changes and the paths are not always perfectly smooth or flat. Join us for a hands-on workshop with William Aultman, owner of Old House and Home, as we explore the timeless craft of window restoration. Participants will learn basic terms for identifying parts of windows, how to determine what work is needed to be done on a window, and how to repair windows in their historic homes. This workshop will take place at the Tool Library, located at 909 Second Street (behind Bike Tech). Our members get first dibs for this workshop, as space is limited. Historic Window Workshop w/ Old House & Home

Join us for a &quot;hard hat tour&quot; and BBQ picnic supper fundraiser catered by Fall Line Brewing at Korner Kupboard on Thursday, May 14. You&#39;ll be able to see the progress we&#39;ve made on the project this year, and can then join us for fellowship and food as we enjoy the final days of spring! Your donation helps Historic Macon preserve and revitalize the homes, storefronts, and streets that shape our everyday life.&nbsp; Fall Line&#39;s BBQ plates include pulled pork or smoked chicken sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, and banana pudding. Preservation Picnic @ Korner Kupboard

Events where we connect, collaborate, and network with friends&mdash;old and new!&mdash;are a benefit of your Historic Macon membership. We&rsquo;re adding more membership events to our schedule this year, and we are starting with our Young Patrons. Please make plans to join us on Tuesday, April 21st at 5:30 PM for an exclusive tour and tasting event at Longleaf Distilling Co. (664 Second Street). Together we will take a tour of the distillery, sample some of Longleaf&rsquo;s spirits, and enjoy a cocktail (or mocktail!) together.
