Hope and Resilience Long Island empowers survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through legal advocacy, trauma counseling, and emergency assistance, fostering a safe and supportive community for healing and solidarity.

You are invited to join Herstory Writers Network&nbsp;and Hope&nbsp;and Resilience Long Island for an intimate memoir reading that celebrates survivorship and the triumph of the human spirit, as we raise our voices for community action and change. As you listen to the stories of women who have been trafficked right here on Long Island, and of people of all generations and callings rising to throw off the chains of racism and hatred, incarceration and political and family violence, reading from Herstory Writers Network 30th anniversary anthology, we ask you to daydream with us about what a world would look like if we could truly hear each of our stories, in the interconnected web of it all, with dignity, perseverance and peace. Join us for an intimate and heartfelt evening of music with Katy Chan &amp; Mila Tina~a special duo bringing together two Chilean artists whose roots span continents and whose music speaks to the soul. Katy Chan is a singer-songwriter based in Mexico whose voice weaves poetry and longing into every note. Mila Tina is a multi-instrumentalist percussionist rooted right here in Water Mill, whose rhythms carry the pulse of Latin America.&nbsp; Together, they take listeners on a living journey through Andean song, Latin American folk traditions, original compositions, and reimagined classics from across the region~music that is at once ancient and alive. The Vagina Monologues: A Benefit for Hope and Resilience Long IslandJoin us on Sunday, March 8th at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington for a powerful afternoon of performance and purpose. We&#39;re proud to present The Vagina Monologues, Eve Ensler&#39;s groundbreaking play that gives voice to women&#39;s experiences through a series of poignant and often humorous monologues exploring topics from love and sexuality to violence and empowerment. Since its debut in 1996, this celebrated work has sparked conversations worldwide about women&#39;s bodies, identity, and rights. The afternoon event will also feature music from Rebel Elle. All proceeds benefit Hope and Resilience Long Island (HARLI), a grassroots nonprofit providing essential services to victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking on Long Island. HARLI offers legal advocacy, legal representation, trauma counseling, and emergency rent assistance for those fleeing abusive homes; services that can mean the difference between safety and danger for survivors in crisis. This event also serves as an introduction to the Unitarian Univerdalist Fellowship of Huntington&#39;s Reproductive Justice Team, part of the social justice committee at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington. The Reproductive Justice Team focuses on three main areas: protecting and strengthening New York&#39;s reproductive rights laws following the loss of federal constitutional protections; supporting vulnerable populations, including incarcerated women, women of color, disabled women, and domestic violence survivors, in accessing reproductive healthcare and choices; and collaborating with other Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington teams&nbsp;to protect LGBTQ+ reproductive rights, including medically assisted reproduction and adoption. As a newer committee, The Reproductive Justice Team is working to coordinate with other Unitarian Universalist congregations and agencies on Long Island and to support the UUA&#39;s nationwide efforts on these issues.
