Housing Opportunities Made Easier

Founded in 2001, HOME advances diverse housing opportunities in Ventura County. Incorporated as a nonprofit in 2006, HOME works to support a healthy, sustainable community where everyone has the opportunity for a secure home.

As housing affordability continues to be one of the most pressing challenges in Ventura County, alternative housing options&mdash;such as tiny homes, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), modular, and manufactured housing&mdash;are becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation. However, confusion around definitions, policies, and financing often limits their broader adoption.Join HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Easier) for a focused forum designed to bring clarity to these topics and explore practical pathways forward. Small Spaces: Understanding Alternative Housing Options

Join this forum to learn and discuss new ways to help end homelessness in Ventura County. The program will include:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The County&rsquo;s Homelessness Solutions team will share information about the VC Continuum&rsquo;s of Care 2026&nbsp;Homeless Point-In-Time Count.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The County Behavioral Health team will talk about linking housing with behavioral health support systems under Proposition 1/Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) and their new&nbsp;Integrated Plan (to be finalized this year)..</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">As the local administrator Many Mansions will discuss the Transitional Rent program, housing support as a Medi-Cal benefit.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Turning Point Foundation will share their insights and perspectives as a frontline housing and service provider.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Q&amp;A of the panelists and open discussion of the many ways to house and support those who are homeless and at-risk.</li></ul>

Join 300 housing and community development professionals at the 25th annual Ventura County Housing Conference on Thursday, October 1st at the Serra Center in Camarillo from 8:00am-2:30pm. &quot;Heart of HOME: 25 years of Connection, Community, &amp; Change&quot; is the Conference theme for this milestone celebration.
