Housing Opportunities Made Easier

Founded in 2001, HOME advances diverse housing opportunities in Ventura County. Incorporated as a nonprofit in 2006, HOME works to support a healthy, sustainable community where everyone has the opportunity for a secure home.

Join 300 housing and community development professionals at the 25th annual Ventura County Housing Conference on Thursday, October 1st at the Serra Center in Camarillo from 8:00am-2:30pm. "Heart of HOME: 25 years of Connection, Community, & Change" is the Conference theme for this milestone celebration. In 2002 the first conference theme: “A Call to Action: New Alliances and New Tools for Housing in Ventura County” still appropriately encapsulates the Conference mission to this day. This year’s 25th annual Ventura County Housing Conference will include:

A multi-disciplinary "Future of Housing" panel that interweaves presentation, Q&A, and small group discussion.

Lunchtime keynote speaker offering policy insights at the state level

25-year timeline display about regional housing, projects, policy, statistics, and people

Expo to connect with 40+ organizations and conference sponsors – new expanded space!

Project or Policy Spotlight

Numerous occasions for sponsor recognition

2026 Carmen Ramirez Housing Advocacy Award

This conference results in positive changes in the local housing supply and policies, community and business environment, and in the lives of families, especially those at lower-income levels. We will continue to emphasize ways to make housing more affordable and create people-centered community. Thank you for being a catalyst in this effort.

2026 Ventura County Housing Conference

As housing affordability continues to be one of the most pressing challenges in Ventura County, alternative housing options—such as tiny homes, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), modular, and manufactured housing—are becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation. However, confusion around definitions, policies, and financing often limits their broader adoption.Join HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Easier) for a focused forum designed to bring clarity to these topics and explore practical pathways forward. This discussion will bring together city leaders, housing professionals, and industry experts to unpack:

Key differences between alternative housing types

How municipalities regulate and approve these options

Financing strategies and current constraints

Opportunities to expand more attainable housing solutions

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how these housing types function in real-world applications and what steps can be taken to support their growth across Ventura County.
