One day, she wondered: Why not bring the two together? That idea became Piecing Taiwan into the World. She partnered with Taiwanese illustrator LiTTSE to create puzzles that invite people to discover Taiwan through beauty, curiosity, and play. Today, Hsiao-Wen works with public libraries across the United States to share these puzzles, helping Taiwan’s stories reach places and audiences where they are rarely told. Each puzzle is her love letter to the island—and an invitation to help Taiwan find its place in the world’s imagination, one shared moment at a time. LiTTSELiTTSE is an illustrator from Hsinchu, Taiwan, and the founder of LiTTSE Studio. The name “LiTTSE” is an original combination of “Little” and “Tse,” inspired by the artist’s Chinese nickname, “小刺.”Through warm, delicate hand-drawn lines, LiTTSE captures streetscapes, everyday life, and cultural memories from Taiwan and around the world. Their illustrations transform ordinary, familiar moments into scenes filled with story and emotion. Through their work, LiTTSE hopes to share the distinctive warmth, culture, and beauty of everyday life in Taiwan with people around the world.
