Join the Dominican Sisters of Peace, Hunger Network in Ohio and Ohio Council of Churches for lunch at the Ohio Statehouse to discuss our call as people of faith to feed our neighbor. Speakers will include policy experts, people with lived experiences, as well as &nbsp;faith and legislative leaders lifting up the voices and stories of those who hunger for an end to poverty in Ohio.&nbsp; We offer a tiered pricing options&nbsp;to allow you to pay what you can.&nbsp;

Advocacy in Advent &amp; Celebration DinnerHe Has Filled the Hungry with Good things...&nbsp; Advocacy day 12:30-5:00 (Meet at Trinity Episcopal Church)Annual Celebration Dinner 6:00-8:00 (Fellowship Hall 1st Congregational).&nbsp; Join faith leaders at the Ohio Statehouse for an afternoon of advocacy. And join with the wider community for a dinner to celebrate the year and reflect on the struggles to end hunger that we will tackle in 2026!&nbsp; Gather at Trinity Episcopal Church at 12:30 for an advocacy briefing and legislative meetings in the afternoon.&nbsp; Advocates can join with others for dinner at First Congregational Church at 6:00pm for our annual celebration dinner! &nbsp;

3rd Annual Faith and Legislative Leader Luncheon

The Budget: The Governor introduced his budget on February 3rd and the Ohio General Assembly is reviewing his proposal and writing their own. We need to lift up the voices of people of faith and good conscience to help the Ohio General Assembly prioritize our hungry neighbors.  The Day:8:45 Gather at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Columbus. Over coffee and refreshments we will pray and hear from policy experts who will brief us on the issues of the day. 10:00 Legislative teams will go across the street to the Ohio Statehouse for pre-arranged legislative meetings12:00 Boxed Lunches will be available at Trinity Episcopal for you to stay and eat or carry to your next meeting. 1:00 Afternoon meetings will last until 2 or 3:00 (Come for all or part of the day!)  Each team will have at least 1 experienced advocate to lead the group.

Budgets are A Moral Document Advocacy Day

The Lame Duck is the legislative session after the election, but before the new legislative leaders are sworn in. Legislators in their final 2 months will be able to finish up their work from the past two years. Anything not sent to the Governor by the end of December will have to start the legislative process all over again! With so much going on, we will coordinate faith leaders and community members to lift up the needs of Ohioans struggling to make ends meet to help our legislative leaders remember their call as public servants.   The Day:8:45 Gather at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Columbus. Join Hunger Advocates and Faith Leaders for a celebration of 2024 as we prepare for 2025. We will celebrate our Faithful Servant Award Recipients, hear from premiere advocacy experts about the impact of the election, and hear about our plans moving forward.  Please select the 'ticket price' that is right for you to help support the Hunger Network's work!

The Ohio Council of Churches, Dominican Sister's of Peace, and the Hunger Network are excited to host our 2nd Annual Faith Leaders Legislative Luncheon, where people of faith, legislative leaders, and policy experts will come together to discuss the affordable housing crisis in Ohio.  As people of faith and good conscious, we believe every Ohioan deserves a place to call home. Presenters will share policy solutions to help us get there and attendees will have an opportunity to talk with legislative leaders and staff about this important issue.
