The I S Hankins--f A Johnson Education Foundation empowers underserved communities through educational initiatives, scholarships, and resources, fostering a brighter future and promoting equal opportunities for all learners.

The Hankins / Johnson Education Foundation Golf Classic allows casual golfers and enthusiast alike to Swing, Slice, Chip and Putt with a Purpose. The I.S. Hankins - F.A. Johnson Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, in conjunction with the Delta Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., will host our 5th Annual Hankins Johnson Education Foundation Golf Classic September 12, 2026. Registration and practice facilities will be available at 7:30am. Shotgun, Scramble starts at 8:30 am. Lunch, awards, and prizes will begin at 1:30pm. Proceeds will fund our scholarships, Young Men of Distinction (YMOD), Mentoring Program, Head Start to Literacy Initiative, STEM Club, and other foundation programs and projects. We awarded $41,000 in scholarships last year. We are on pace to exceed that amount in 2026. We delivered over one thousand (1,000) books and large quantities of supplies to Head Start centers in Orange County last year. We are on pace to exceed that support this year. The Orlando Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated and its I.S. Hankins/F.A. Johnson Education Foundation are preparing for the 41st Annual MLK Commemorative Luncheon and 23rd Annual MLK Leadership Forum and hope you are able to attend! Join Fraternity members and the Orlando Mayor&rsquo;s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission to celebrate what would be Dr. King&rsquo;s 98th birthday. The theme for this year&rsquo;s Luncheon and Forum is: &ldquo;Power, Purpose, and the Ballot&rdquo; At the Luncheon, community leaders and organizations will be recognized for their contributions to the community with the prestigious DRUM MAJOR AWARD! Categories are Scholarship (student), Civic Affairs, Social Justice, Community Service and Business. Proceeds from this event provide college scholarships to local students, fund the Young Men of Distinction mentoring program and provide support to other educational initiatives of the Foundation.
