Join IMYP for our second Ramadan iftar, hosted at the Interchurch Center. Before iftar, we&rsquo;ll share brief reflections on how to navigate feelings of powerlessness when faced with circumstances beyond our control. Then we&rsquo;ll break our fasts and share a meal together.&nbsp;

IMYP Iftar: Resilience & Tawakkul

Join IMYP for our first Ramadan iftar at Event Nest in Carmel. This iftar will include a discussion of &nbsp;the changes facing Muslim Americans in the workforce, explored through the lived experiences of Muslim professionals across generations. We will be joined by community mentors who were professionally active during the 1970s, 80s, or 90s, who will engage in a brief pre-iftar discussion with our attendees. Come for the food, stay for the company and conversation!

As Ramadan approaches, join us for an interactive workshop on sustainable goal-setting and burnout prevention. We&#39;ll be providing mini-journal kits for participants to outline their Ramadan goals and set prompts to reflect on throughout the month. Light snacks and tea will be provided!

IMYP Self-Advocacy WorkshopIn this workshop, we plan to explore how Muslim young professionals better advocate for themselves in the workplace. For example, how can we deal with asking for religious accommodations workplace conflict or disciplinary processes, social media monitoring and free speech, asking for a raise or better working conditions, etc.? What are our legal rights in these situations? Participants will learn from a variety of professionals (&quot;facilitators&quot;) with experience dealing with these questions, through interactive discussion of scenarios. We&#39;d like for these facilitators to briefly introduce themselves and their backgrounds, and then provide insight during the guided small-group discussions.&nbsp;

Join IMYP as we break our fast at this masjid's community iftar.  This evening will feature a brief pre-iftar halaqa where we will discuss the role of Muslims in the Golden Age of Islam as groundbreakers across the arts and sciences. Network with other Muslim professionals in your field and discuss how we can build our legacy through creative and professional contributions. Registration will close three days prior to the event.

Fariha and Hafsa are excited to introduce the women of our IMYP community to kickboxing! This will be a private 30 min HIIT workout for our community at this all-women's gym.
