This year we are offering 2 sessions of 4 weeks each. You can register your kids for one or both sessions. Both sessions will be similar and are designed to accommodate our community&#39;s needs and schedules. Note: If you elect to enroll in both sessions, you may be asked to pick one option closer to the camp to accommodate those who are on a waitlist for one session only. This program is for kids between ages 5 to 12 years old. Pick Up: Parents must pick up kids right after Dhuhr prayer (1:45 PM). After 2pm, ICK Staff is not responsible for your child. CHILDREN CANNOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED AT THE MASJID UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This is a safety issue. If parents arrive after 2pm, the first 2 times the parents will be given a warning. If parents continue this behavior, their child will be removed from the camp. Parents who pick up their kids will need to check in with a staff member before leaving with their child. If there is someone other than the child&rsquo;s family picking kids up, then please email academy@ickansas.org. Dress Code: Please dress the kids appropriately. We are an Islamic Center and the children will be reading/studying the Quran and praying with us. Please make sure your children abide by the dress code below:&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Boys should wear long pants. All students are required to behave in class such that teaching and learning is accomplished in the most efficient manner. Constant or prolonged disruptive behavior can result in:&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Students being asked to leave the classroom</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Parents being asked to pick up the student from the school</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Greater than two incidences will result in a conference between the Principal and the student&#39;s parents</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Greater than 3 incidents and the student may be expelled from the school</li></ul>Any form of Physical or verbal aggression will not be tolerated:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Behavior injurious to the physical well-being of others such as inflicting or encouraging others to inflict bodily harm on another person</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Inflicting verbal (oral or written), comments of a sexual or racial nature that hurt an individual or group of individuals</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Threatening physical harm, bullying or harassing others</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Using any form of discrimination</li></ul>Parents will be responsible for any damage caused to ICK property by their child/children and shall be required to pay the cost of such damage. Medical Event:Parent(s) understands that they will be notified once in case of an accident or illness to their child, and Parent(s) will make arrangements for medical care of their child with the physician or hospital of their choice. Parent(s) are expected to arrive at The Islamic Center of Kansas (ICK) within 15 min of the call. &nbsp;If the Parent(s) cannot be reached to make necessary arrangements, or in a critical emergency or life-threatening incident requiring medical care, Parent(s) authorize ICK, as represented by a staff member, to call 911 (expenses to be covered by Parent(s)) for any medical or surgical treatment that might be necessary to treat an accident that has occurred on ICK&rsquo;s premises at any time. If your child(ren) is not feeling well, please keep them at home for the safety of all the children and staff. If your child arrives sick, or gets sick during classes, you will be called and asked to pick them up. Electronics and Toys Use:Students are not allowed to bring their toys, electronics (phones, tablets, etc.) to the program. The use of such items is prohibited during program hours. In some cases, teachers, at their discretion, may use electronic means for teaching a specific subject. In that case, the teacher shall provide the medium or device that is needed. ICK Pictures and Videos Use Policy:We take many pictures and &nbsp;videos of our activities, events, classes, etc to record, advertise, promote and update our community. We shall post these pictures or videos across various platforms like email, our website, and various social media platforms. We will not knowingly publish anything that would embarrass, or hurt anyone in pictures or videos. Agreement:I hereby grant Islamic Center of Kansas Inc (ICK) (the organization) permission to use mine, or my family members (spouse or children whom I am a legal guardian of) likeness in photographs, video recordings or electronic images in any and all of its publications, including but not limited to, websites, social media platforms, etc. without payment or any other considerations. I understand and agree that these materials will become the property of the organization and will not be returned. I hereby irrevocably authorize the organization to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute these images for purposes of publicizing the organization&#39;s programs or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of my image. I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge the organization from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization ICK General Release of Liability:Agreement: As the parent/legal guardian of the minor(s) listed above, I hereby grant permission for the student(s) to participate in the activities of the Islamic Center of Kansas&rsquo; Weekend Academy, Quran School, Youth Academy, Summer camp or any other programs. Shining Minds is a summer camp experience designed for children with diverse learning needs, ages 5&ndash;10 &mdash; held in a warm, nurturing, and fully Islamic environment. In partnership with MUHSEN, ICK is proud to offer a space where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated. Through sensory play, Islamic storytime, and Nasheeds, campers grow in faith, creativity, and confidence. Program Details📅 June 8&ndash;18 | Mon - Thu |⏰ 2:30&ndash;5:00 PM | 💰 $150 per child | 👦🏽👧🏽 Ages 5&ndash;10 Terms &amp; ConditionsEvery parent and student must follow the ICK&#39;s policies as stated in the ICK Masjid. We recognize that behaviors may reflect a child&rsquo;s learning profile, sensory needs, or communication style &mdash; not willful misconduct. Our approach is always collaborative and child-centered.&nbsp;All students are expected to participate in a manner that supports the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others. When behaviors affect the safety of the child or others, staff will follow this process:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Step 1 &mdash; De-escalation First: Staff will use calming strategies, environmental adjustments, or sensory supports to address the behavior before any other action is taken.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Step 2 &mdash; Parent Notification: If the behavior continues or affects safety, parents will be contacted to discuss strategies and develop a brief support plan together.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Step 3 &mdash; Support Plan Review: If behaviors continue after a support plan is in place, a meeting will be held between camp leadership and the family to assess whether program adjustments can be made.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Step 4 &mdash; Program Fit Review: In rare cases where ICK cannot safely meet a child&rsquo;s needs despite good-faith efforts, the family will be notified with full transparency, and a prorated refund will be issued per the Fees policy.</li></ul>&nbsp;The following behaviors are not acceptable regardless of context and require immediate parental notification:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Inflicting or encouraging bodily harm to another person</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Verbal or written comments of a sexual or racial nature directed at any individual or group</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Threatening, bullying, or harassing others</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Any form of discrimination</li></ul>Parents will be responsible for any damage caused to ICK property by their child/children and shall be required to pay the cost of such damage. Emergency contacts, known allergies, and current medications are collected as part of the registration form.&nbsp;In addition, we ask that you disclose any relevant medical conditions, diagnoses, or emergency protocols (e.g., seizure action plans, EpiPen protocols, or behavioral crisis procedures) so staff are prepared from day one. This information is kept strictly confidential and shared only with direct program staff.&nbsp;In the event of an accident or illness during the session:&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Parents will be notified immediately and are expected to arrive within 15 minutes.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">If a parent cannot be reached, designated emergency contacts will be called.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">In a life-threatening or critical emergency, ICK staff are authorized to call 911. Join us for an overnight Youth Qiyam Night for Girls (Ages 13+) 🕌&mdash;a chance to pray, reflect, and strengthen sisterhood in a safe, guided setting. Through late-night prayers, short reminders, and group activities, we&rsquo;ll focus on connecting our hearts to Allah and supporting one another as young Muslims. Please complete this form to register your child and help us plan a smooth, organized evening. Jazakum Allahu Khairan for trusting ICK with your daughters&rsquo; Islamic growth and wellbeing 🌙 Terms and Conditions - Must READICK Youth Night will start Saturday at 11:00 PM and finish after Fajr This form needs to be filled out for each participant. Ages 17 and under will need their parents to fill out this form. This event is for Youth ages 13+ both Boys and Girls. The program includes Quran Halaqa, Games and activities, Qiyam and Short talks. The event will end with Suhoor and Fajr Salah with JamaaTerms:&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The event will be indoors only and the youth will not be permitted to go outside to hang out in order to keep the noise level low.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Parents should drop their kids at 11:00 PM and join us for Fajr</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The Youth will not be allowed to leave unless the parents come to pick them up or have permission from the program leads and parental consent.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Bad behavior will not be tolerated! Story Time focuses on educating kids about their religion through a series of authentic stories on a particular topic or theme, creating friendships among the the kids, love for our Masjid, and a desire to learn about Islam.&nbsp; This registration is for Fall only. The program now has limited capacity and only registered students will be able to participate. The Program will be on 2nd and 3rd Fridays of the month, starting Sept 11 till Dec 18th. Starts 60 mins before Maghrib Salah. Timings will adjust based on salah time and day light savings. Parents are required to stay in the Masjid during this time. Terms &amp; ConditionsEvery parent and student must follow the ICK&#39;s policies as stated in the ICK Masjid. Beyond that, please make sure you and your children &nbsp;these policies: Pickup/Dropoff:Drop off: Doors opens up at 11:50 AM. Parents cannot leave kids unattended at the masjid before hand. Parents must ensure that kids check in with door attendance and ensure they are in the building safety. Pick Up: Parents must be present either pick up before or attend Duhr Prayer as our small team for this camp will not be responsible for managing the kids after session is over (1:35 PM). CHILDREN CANNOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED AT THE MASJID UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This is a safety issue.&nbsp; Dress Code:&nbsp;Please dress the kids appropriately. We are an Islamic Center and the children will be reading/studying the Quran and praying with us. Please make sure your children abide by the dress code below:&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Boys should wear long pants. All students are required to behave in class such that teaching and learning is accomplished in the most efficient manner. Medical Event:Parent(s) understands that they will be notified once in case of an accident or illness to their child, and Parent(s) will make arrangements for medical care of their child with the physician or hospital of their choice. Parent(s) are expected to arrive at The Islamic Center of Kansas (ICK) within 15 min of the call. &nbsp;If the Parent(s) cannot be reached to make necessary arrangements, or in a critical emergency or life-threatening incident requiring medical care, Parent(s) authorize ICK, as represented by a staff member, to call 911 (expenses to be covered by Parent(s)) for any medical or surgical treatment that might be necessary to treat an accident that has occurred on ICK&rsquo;s premises at any time. If your child(ren) is not feeling well, please keep them at home for the safety of all the children and staff. If your child arrives sick, or gets sick during classes, you will be called and asked to pick them up. Electronics and Toys Use:Students are not allowed to bring their toys, electronics (phones, tablets, etc.) to the program. The use of such items is prohibited during program hours. In some cases, teachers, at their discretion, may use electronic means for teaching a specific subject. In that case, the teacher shall provide the medium or device that is needed. ICK Pictures and Videos Use Policy:We take many pictures and &nbsp;videos of our activities, events, classes, etc to record, advertise, promote and update our community. We shall post these pictures or videos across various platforms like email, our website, and various social media platforms. We will not knowingly publish anything that would embarrass, or hurt anyone in pictures or videos. Agreement:I hereby grant Islamic Center of Kansas Inc (ICK) (the organization) permission to use mine, or my family members (spouse or children whom I am a legal guardian of) likeness in photographs, video recordings or electronic images in any and all of its publications, including but not limited to, websites, social media platforms, etc. without payment or any other considerations. I understand and agree that these materials will become the property of the organization and will not be returned. I hereby irrevocably authorize the organization to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute these images for purposes of publicizing the organization&#39;s programs or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of my image. I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge the organization from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization ICK General Release of Liability:Agreement: As the parent/legal guardian of the minor(s) listed above, I hereby grant permission for the student(s) to participate in the activities of the Islamic Center of Kansas&rsquo; Weekend Academy, Quran School, Youth Academy, Summer camp or any other programs.
