A 21 and over event. Get ready for a night of mystery, history, and spooky fun at the ladies-only event: Ladies of the Night &ndash; An Evening of History and the Paranormal! Mark your calendar for August 29, 2026, from 7 PM to 11 PM at the iconic 1859 Jail Museum in Independence, MO. Imagine sipping your favorite wine, nibbling on delicious charcuterie, and diving into fascinating local history &mdash; all while uncovering chilling paranormal stories! We&#39;ll be sharing tales of intriguing ladies who once spent time on both sides of the bars in this Jackson County Jail, presented by Becky Ray from Ghosts a Go-Go. And the excitement doesn&rsquo;t stop there &mdash; Becky and her team from Paranormal Activity Investigators (P.A.I.) will take you on a ghost hunt in the dark, where anything could happen! Your ticket includes entry to the event, two drink tickets to toast to the spooky night, and tasty snacks to keep you energized. Please note, this is a 21+ event (IDs will be checked), and because the museum is a historic building, it&rsquo;s not fully ADA accessible. Tickets are only $25 if you purchase before August 29th &mdash; The day of the event, they are $30 at the door, and they may sell out! Have you ever wanted to know more about the darker side of The 1859 Jail? Join us in October for a 90 minute evening tour, where our staff will share information that&#39;s not on the everyday tour, and members of P.A.I (Paranormal Activity Investigators) will give detailed accounts of paranormal reports from every part of the building! Deaths, hangings, and macabre events from the jail&#39;s past!&nbsp; The tours are 13 and over please. &nbsp; Alcohol is not permitted.No food or Drink is allowed in the museum.

Home to jailers and their families, as well as inmates such as Frank James, William Quantrill, and numerous Jackson County criminals; the 1859 Jail remains as a witness to some of the western frontier&#39;s most colorful days! Join us for an all-evening, lights-out investigation of the old jail! Our staff will provide a quick history, then P.A.I. will share some guidelines for the night and off you&#39;ll go! Come, spend some spooky time with us and the inmates!
