Help Launch Jean’s Place – A Safe Haven for Mental Health SupportHi, my name is Dave Hunt, and I'm starting Jean’s Place in honor of my late mother, Jean Boyle — a woman who dedicated her life to helping others, especially those struggling with mental health. Like her, I’ve faced my own lifelong battles with mental health, and I know firsthand how powerful a supportive, nonjudgmental space can be.Now, I’m building that space for others — a community-driven nonprofit focused on youth and teen mental wellness, connection, and healing. What is Jean’s Place?Jean’s Place will be a nonprofit community space offering:Events and outreach for underserved youth with mental health strugglesAdvocacy for traditionally unheard voicesEmergency self-care kits and crisis resourcesSupport and communityTraining in mental health first aidResources and referrals for necessary help Free or low-cost support groups and peer-led workshopsFuture goals for Jean’s PlaceA facility where any young person can come when they feel they need helpImmediate crisis response team for families and youth in crisisCopay assistance for mental health services of under-insured youth We’re here for any youth or teen who feels alone, unseen, or unheard — and we’re here to say: You are not alone.
