I don’t like to think of what my life would have been like without Zen practice and the Kansas Zen Center. We really do change people’s lives. We offer all levels of participation, from casual to intensely immersive. We change the lives of regular practitioners, but we also effect so many more people. We can’t tell you how many times someone has stopped one of us at the grocery store or downtown to tell me how important the existence of the Zen center is to them, how much they’ve gotten from a social media post, a video, a moment in our native plant garden… That’s why I’m asking you to support Kansas Zen Center during this annual funding campaign, so we can continue to reach out to everyone who reaches out to us.  Kansas Zen Center goes back a long way. We started in Lawrence, Kansas as a semi-formal meditation group in 1978. 46 years later we have two resident Zen masters, are the fifth largest Zen center among the 39 groups and centers in the Kwan Um School of Zen/Americas, and offer regular practices and retreats, classes (both advanced and introductory), and a thriving dharma school for kids. We are a treasure for those living in our region. While we are staffed entirely by volunteers, we have on-going expenses — technology, building systems, building and property maintenance and development, insurance, dharma and dharma school supplies, support for visiting teachers, a mortgage  — all of which are supported solely by membership dues, event fees, and your donations. We are grateful for any support you have offered in the past and ask for your help in maintaining our vision into the future. Thank you for your support, Judy Roitman (Zen Master Bon Hae)Guiding Teacher Stan Lombardo (Zen Master Hae Kwang)
