Kearny Project Graduation Inc. provides safe, alcohol-free graduation celebrations for Kearny High School seniors, fostering community spirit and ensuring memorable experiences for graduates and their families.

Dear Parent/Guardian/Students: KHS Project Graduation will hold its annual Project Grad celebration on Thursday evening, June 18, 2026. This will be a drug- and alcohol-free celebration for seniors participating in the graduation ceremony. Various activities have been planned, which we hope will make this a memorable experience. Basketball, racquetball, dancing to a DJ, swimming in an indoor pool, and many other activities are planned. Event DetailsDate: Thursday, June 18, 2026Time: Begins immediately after graduation (approx. 8:00pm)Return: Returns to KHS (approx. 5:00 AM)Location: King Street Field House (bag check-in begins 4:15 PM)Please note: KHS Project Grad, Inc. sponsors this event. Kearny High School, the Town of Kearny, and the Kearny Board of Education do not sponsor this. Registration &amp; PaymentA signed contract/permission slip is necessary for your child to attend Project Graduation. The student&rsquo;s signature is also required, which signifies their willingness to follow the rules and regulations established by the committee.Registration Fee&nbsp;&bull; $30.00 if received by May 15, 2026.&nbsp;&bull; $35.00 if received May 16, 2026, or later. To ensure a safe environment, all backpacks and other bags will be collected prior to the graduation ceremony. No bags of any kind, including purses, will be allowed in the building after graduation. All bags (including purses) must be checked in prior to graduation. No exceptions. Parents/guardians will be called if necessary for any inappropriate behavior. Any participant involved with alcohol or drugs will be removed, parents/guardians will be contacted, and the student will be subject to local, state, and federal laws as they apply. A parent/guardian will be required to pick up the student from the location of the event. Rules and Regulations1. The evening will be chaperoned by parents, Project Graduation Committee members, faculty, and the Kearny Police L.E.A.D. Officers.2. Bag check-in will begin at 4:15 PM at the King Street Field House. All bags will be checked by security staff upon check-in. Bags, including purses, may not be brought to the school after graduation (such as pocketbooks, camera bags, backpacks).3. After graduation is over, report directly to the High School cafeteria. DO NOT GO HOME or you will not be permitted to go on the bus. Please give your valuables and diploma to a family member to bring home.4. A swimming pool, basketball courts, a gym, and a lounge area will be available. Lifeguards will be on duty. Since a pool is available, students are advised to bring a bathing suit. Lockers will be available, but graduates should bring their own locks and towels. BRING YOUR YEARBOOK FOR SIGNING.5. The Project Graduation Committee will provide all food. Graduates may not bring any food or beverages. Basketball shoes or sneakers must be worn. No black-soled shoes are allowed. Phone numbers where parents/guardians can be reached must be provided to the committee at the time of sign-up.6. Anyone leaving the building must be authorized by one of the chaperones. Graduates will not be permitted to leave the facility prior to the conclusion of Project Graduation in the morning. NOTE: Parents can pick up students at the high school on Saturday morning at 5:00 AM.7. Club rules prohibit smoking of any kind by anyone on the premises. This rule is strictly enforced.8. Each person attending must accept full responsibility for their actions at the celebration. Any damages to any of the facilities will cause the participant to be assessed for those damages and subject to prosecution.9. Buses will bring students to the facility and return them to Kearny High School. Since everything will be paid for by Project Graduation, cash, valuables, and jewelry should be left at home. PLEASE NO VALUABLES!10. If your child has any special needs or medical conditions, please notify us at check-in.11. The Project Graduation Committee reserves the right to deny entry to anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs/alcohol or exhibiting improper behavior. All decisions by PG (Project Graduation) are final. There will be no refunds.

Class of 2026 Project Graduation Night (June 18, 2026)

To Our Kearny Community and Supporters of Project Graduation, Thank you for your continued generosity and support of Project Graduation. Your commitment means so much to our seniors and our community. We are pleased to share that the new date is FINALIZED AND SCHEDULED for Saturday, March 28. All previously purchased tickets will automatically be honored, and no further action is required. If you cannot make our new date for the event, please immediately respond to this email and request a refund. ALL refund requests will be immediately honored. This brief delay also provides us additional time to secure even more generous donations and exciting prizes, allowing us to make the evening even more rewarding for our patrons. We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as we remain fully committed to delivering a memorable Project Graduation experience for the Class of 2026.
