The Belermina De Leon Legacy Fund for Community Food Distribution, is a program of Latina Women’s League and it's dedicated to supporting families experiencing food insecurity.This fund was created in honor of Belermina De Leon whose life was guided by generosity, compassion, and a deep concern for the wellbeing of others. She believed that no one should go without food, and whenever she had the opportunity, she helped those in need—quietly, sincerely, and without expecting anything in return.By keeping this donation fund open in her memory, we aim to continue the values she lived by: community care, dignity, and mutual support.All donations directly support food purchases, distribution efforts, and essential supplies for families served through Latina Women’s League programs.Together, we transform remembrance into action and compassion into nourishment.

Become part of the Latina Women’s League, a nonprofit organization created by women for women, where community, culture, and sisterhood come together.We lead free educational programs such as ESOL, Citizenship Preparation, Training Sessions, and Spanish Classes. We organize health and wellness programs including nutrition, fitness, and mental health workshops. We also develop social support initiatives for newcomers, immigrants, and families navigating school and community life.Our cultural work shines through the Gainesville Latino Film Festival, a celebration of art, diversity, and collaboration that brings people together every year to honor Latin American stories and voices.By becoming a member, you support and take part in these efforts.
