As followers of Jesus, we are called to be His hands and feet by caring for those who are hurting and bringing hope to those facing crisis.No One Should Spend Their Worst Day in a Cubicle.Too often, children experiencing foster care and victims of trauma spend some of the hardest moments of their lives in cold, institutional spaces while waiting for placement, meeting with caseworkers, or speaking with law enforcement. These environments were never designed for people in crisis.The environments people encounter during moments of crisis shape how they experience those moments and what comes next. For children entering foster care and individuals affected by trauma, a space designed for comfort, safety, and dignity can help reduce stress and restore calm. Lily Pad transforms cold, institutional spaces into welcoming, trauma-informed environments where children and victims can experience a soft place to land.To date, Lily Pad has created more than 80 trauma-informed rooms in 44 child welfare and law enforcement offices, helping thousands of vulnerable children, families, and victims experience greater comfort, dignity, and hope.Our prayer is that during VBS, and throughout the weeks leading up to it, Advent's church family will experience Lily Pad's traveling room and see firsthand how simple acts of compassion, service, and love can bring comfort, hope, and dignity to children and individuals during some of life's most difficult moments.Thank you for partnering with Lily Pad to help create more soft places to land.
