&nbsp;Lonesome Pine Trails: Protecting a Community Treasure Fort Kent&rsquo;s own Lonesome Pine Trails is more than a ski hill, it&rsquo;s a self‑sustaining nonprofit that keeps Aroostook County moving, connected, and thriving. As one of only two remaining ski areas in the entire county, it serves as a year‑round hub for wellness, youth development, outdoor recreation, and local tourism. In one of Maine&rsquo;s most underserved regions, its impact reaches far beyond the slopes, but today, this vital community resource is at risk &nbsp;A Lift That Has Carried Generations Now at the end of its life, our current surface lift, a 1960 Hall T-bar from Labrador Mountain (Truxton, New York) was installed at LPT in 1986. Thanks to decades of meticulous care, it has lasted far beyond its expected lifespan and replacement parts are no longer available.
