Louisiana Architecture Foundation

The Louisiana Architecture Foundation promotes awareness and appreciation of Louisiana's architectural heritage, focusing on the influence of African and Creole cultures. They aim to preserve these traditions through education, events, and community engagement.

The award-winning film documentary,&nbsp;Ancestral Artistry: The Influence of Africans &amp; Creoles of Color on Louisiana Architecture, traces the enduring influence of Africans and Creoles of Color on Louisiana&rsquo;s architecture, revealing how centuries-old building traditions&mdash;rooted in African and European craftsmanship&mdash;shaped a distinct cultural landscape now at risk of being lost if a new generation doesn&rsquo;t carry them forward. Ancestral Artistry&nbsp;was produced by the Louisiana Architecture Foundation and Makemade.&nbsp; Co-directed &amp; co-written by Connie Castille &amp; Charles Richard.&nbsp; Event proceeds will go to the 501c3 Louisiana Architecture Foundation.&nbsp; The event takes place at the Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center, 314 St. Mary Street, Thibodaux, LA. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Short panel discussion following the film. ONLINE TICKET SALES ONLY. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. The event is co-hosted by AIA Louisiana Coastal.
