Hunger in the Mahoning ValleyThe Mahoning Valley is experiencing a growing hunger crisis. More than 89,000 residents across Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana Counties lack consistent access to nutritious food. Among them are over 25,700 children — nearly 1 in 4 who live with food insecurity.Rising food prices, limited transportation, and shrinking access to local grocery stores have created severe food deserts throughout the region. Traditional food programs cannot reach every family in need, especially seniors, single parents, and residents without reliable transportation. Our Response: Freedom Fighter Family PantriesThe Freedom Fighter Family Pantries provide zero-barrier, 24/7 access to essential food items in neighborhoods where help is needed most. These community-run micro-pantries are stocked twice weekly by volunteers and offer families immediate relief without paperwork, appointments, or stigma. Why Your Support MattersDemand is increasing every week. Pantries are emptied within hours, and new neighborhoods are requesting installations. Your contribution directly expands our capacity to feed local families.$50 fills a pantry for a day$100 supports a full week of restocking$200 sponsors a pantry for an entire month$300 Sponsors a newly built pantry for a neighborhood in needYour support helps ensure that no one in our community has to face hunger alone.Donate or get involved: www.mahoningvalleyfreedomfighters.com
