Members of the Iredell County Detachment #1097 of the Marine Corps League, Inc. join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and interest of the United States Marine Corps, rendering assistance to all Marines and former Marines and to their widows and orphans, and to promote the common good of our community and nation. &nbsp;The Detachment&rsquo;s mission is to be carried out in a spirit that demonstrates love and respect for God, our nation, our Corps, our families, and our communities. This is best evidenced by the scholarship at Mitchell Community College, Toys for Tots program for Iredell County, support and funding of the MCL Iredell County JROTC Iredell County Drill competition, $1,000 donation to the South Iredell JROTC program, $3,000 donation to assist with feeding of Helene victims, $500 donation to support the West Iredell High School annual Veterans Day Program, provide assistance and funds to various civic organizations throughout Iredell County and the nation, donations to Veterans in need and provide Honor Guards for various events and Veterans funerals.
