Sara’s project was created when we began helping a widow who was caring for her disabled son but living in the worst conditions. Her mud hut was crumbling but she remained faithful that she would manage as her Mom told her before she passed away: “Sara – never stop caring for others, even if you are without, do what you can with a smile and love in your heart and your prayers will be heard”When you donate to this project through MBG, we identify widows in need and help them with the following:Monthly food supplies (if this is the greatest need for that woman) ($25)Gift of a cow ($150), goat ($50) or chicken ($10)Gift of a sewing machine ($200)Gift of home supplies, farming tools, other larger needs ($100 and up)Your gift of any amount will help a special widow and her children to see the light of Jesus. We pray your heart will be open to one of the opportunities we have for them.

We have given a group of widows a unique “Jiko or Oven” that they are beginning to learn how to bake bread and other things that will nourish their bodies and souls. MBG has connected with local bakers who willingly give their time to help teach the art and skill of baking. As we progress through this process – we see the benefit of an oven and the skill that empowers each woman who stands behind it.Our goal is to get more ovens in the community for more of our widows. We are encouraging them to write us a letter expressing their interest and desire to learn. We then meet with them and discern if this is a perfect fit. The investment in the oven itself, the supplies and training are approximately $800.00 usd. We have provided one oven (2026) to a group of 4 widows who live in a compound together. This will be a great opportunity for all of them to learn and grow together. We have another oven with a disability center for children where they make bread daily. It has proven to be a great resource for this center.

We have listened carefully to the needs of the Leper Community and have jumped into action to provide for their needs.They were struggling to get into their homes so we poured cement ramps so they can easily enter and exit.We purchased 22 chickens to start a project for them to sell eggs and to get more chicks for production.We purchased a “Milling Machine” for their community so they can grind their corn into flour and other things. This machine helps them strive and survive.All these projects take money to grow and to maintain. Your donations will help us pay for their electricity to run the machine. It will help, with chicken feed and for food for their own community. The needs are great but slowly we are making a difference in their lives.
