Mount Lassen Chapter California Native Plant Society

The Mount Lassen Chapter of the California Native Plant Society is dedicated to protecting California's native plants and their habitats through education, conservation, and community engagement. They promote biodiversity and sustainable practices.

Our chapter will be joining AltaCal and the Shasta Birding Society for a camping trip in Lassen Volcanic National Park the weekend of June 26-28. &nbsp;Join us for a weekend of birding and botanizing field trips across the park. &nbsp; Space will be limited for this event as we have reserved a group campground at Lost Creek Campground, so please sign up here (Zeffy Link) to claim your spot! Feel free to camp with us Friday and/or Saturday night, or just join us for the day on Saturday. If you are able, there&#39;s space in this form to donate to our chapter as a way to pitch in for the campsite. &nbsp;We are a nonprofit volunteer-led chapter, so any financial support really helps us put on these events like this and reserve this campsite!

Lassen Volcanic Camping Trip

Join us for the Upper Bidwell Bioblitz 2026!&nbsp;Explore your local park and its wildlife by joining our first inaugural bioblitz, a community-driven effort to document the flora and fauna of Upper Bidwell Park! &nbsp;We will go out in groups to observe the plants, animals, and fungi of Upper Bidwell Park using the free app iNaturalist. We will gather at the Chico Community Observatory in Upper Bidwell Park (1 Observatory Way, Chico, CA) to kickstart this event and have groups of people to walk the trails of Upper Bidwell Park recording iNaturalist observations. &nbsp;We will have people return to the observatory at 12:15 PM for a debrief and talk about our groups&#39; findings! This is a great way to learn about the flora and fauna of Bidwell Park while supporting global research and advocacy efforts! iNaturalist is a free community science app that enables users to contribute valuable biodiversity data to a global database. &nbsp;You don&#39;t have to be knowledgeable about plant, bird, or insect identification to join us, or be experienced with iNaturalist! &nbsp;All expertise levels are welcome, and this is a great event for beginners. &nbsp; Please register here so we can share survey routes, safety guidelines, and instructions on how to download and use iNaturalist. All experience levels are welcome; curiosity is what matters most here. &nbsp;Attendees will need a smartphone. Note: Be sure to read and agree to the <a fr-original-style="" href="https://bit.ly/cnps-liabilitywaiver" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Liability Waiver</a>!&nbsp;
