Join the NAACP Merced County Branch for a special screening of Disciples of a Craftsman, an inspiring independent feature film produced by Hatching Chick Media Group, followed by a live Panel Discussion &amp; Community Conversation. More than a film, this is an opportunity to come together as a community to reflect, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue. Disciples of a Craftsman explores themes of grief, redemption, cultural identity, mentorship, accountability, and the power of community while encouraging honest conversations that inspire hope, healing, and positive action. Following the screening, meet members of the Hatching Chick Media Group filmmaking team and join invited community leaders for an interactive panel discussion and audience conversation exploring the film&#39;s message and its relevance to our community. The NAACP Merced County Branch believes everyone should have the opportunity to participate. If the admission fee presents a financial hardship, please contact us as soon as possible. To allow our volunteers adequate time to assist you, we kindly request that admission assistance requests be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the event. No one will be turned away due to an inability to pay. However, because this event is coordinated entirely by volunteers, requests received less than 48 hours before the event may not be able to be accommodated. ℹ️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION ⚠️ Film Advisory Disciples of a Craftsman explores themes of grief, loss, violence, redemption, cultural identity, family relationships, and community challenges. While the film is designed to encourage thoughtful conversation and positive community engagement, some themes may be emotionally intense for younger viewers. Parental discretion is advised. &nbsp;🏡 Families Welcome Families are welcome to attend this event. Parents and guardians are encouraged to remain with their children throughout the program and use their discretion in determining whether the film and post-screening discussion are appropriate for their child. The Freedom Fund Banquet is our signature annual fundraising event, bringing together community members, leaders, businesses, partners, and supporters who believe in the power of advocacy, opportunity, and collective action. This special evening is more than a banquet. It is an opportunity to celebrate progress, recognize those making a difference, strengthen community connections, and invest in the work ahead.
