NAMI Northwoods

NAMI Northwoods provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness throughout Marathon, Lincoln, and Langlade counties in Wisconsin so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session education course for family members, partners, and friends of adults living with mental health conditions.Beginning April 9, 2026Thursdays | 6:00&ndash;8:30 PMAttend in person in Wausau or virtually.Led by trained family members, this evidence-based course provides practical tools for communication, crisis support, problem-solving, and self-care &mdash; along with connection to others who understand.Free to attend. Join NAMI Northwoods for The Family Experience, a powerful presentation that offers real insight into the challenges, emotions, and realities families face. This presentation builds understanding, reduces stigma, and offers perspective for anyone supporting someone with a mental health condition. Doors open at 5:30 PM Presentation begins at 5:45 PM This event is free to attend. Registration is required due to limited seating.Best suited for an adult audience. The Family Experience Presentation

Sometimes the conversation that saves a life is the hardest one to start.CALM Conversations is an evidence-based, 90-minute suicide prevention training that teaches practical ways to talk about reducing access to lethal means, especially firearms, during a crisis. Designed for professionals and community members alike, this interactive workshop focuses on real-world strategies that can be used outside of clinical settings.

Hope In Motion 2026 Walk Registration - Free!

NAMI Northwoods is hosting a 2-day Crisis Intervention Partners (CIP) training for community partners and public-facing professionals who may interact with individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Date: Tuesday, September 29 &ndash; Wednesday, September 30, 2026 Time: 8:00 AM &ndash; 4:30 PM each day Location: Lake View Conference Center, Wausau Cost: Free Capacity: Limited to 40 participants Registration deadline: Tuesday, September 15, 2026Please note: CIP is a 2-day training. Participants are expected to attend both full days. CIP is designed for professionals such as corrections staff, EMS, fire/first responders, county and government staff, law enforcement-affiliated civilian staff, service providers, and other community partners. Registration information will help NAMI Northwoods plan for training materials, meals, and participant mix across agencies and roles, and manage capacity if needed. Participants will receive a confirmation email with final event details closer to the training date.
